The thought occurs that if one has a dildo bat, then he already has the tool he needs to deal with 'HR issues.'
I'm picturing two scenarios in my head.

Really? I only see one, and I full on intend to play that out in the actual game.

Tom Chick has weighed in, and he loves it.

Here is a game that starts you out doing the sorts of things you wouldn't normally do until the end of other games. And yet, it never stops delivering surprises, twists, and "I gotta get me one of those!" moments. Which is followed by one of those being immediately given to you. Saints Row 3 doesn't go to 11, because it's there from the beginning.

Apparently I would only be able to get the low violence, localized version. Fuck that.  0.0 DPS

Import it from the UK, or is that forbidden by BPjM now, too?

So I was just reading up on this, and apparently does the police react and escalate faster when mugging people, they don't drop money, can't be used as shield (only enemies), and apparently they've removed a whole game mode.

Holy shit.

Yes, it's activated on Steam. There's a code inside you can use to activate on Steam then download, or install straight from the DVD. The label is Games for Windows, not GFWL so you don't have to worry about Live.

I get my games from the UK, too. It involves me sitting my arse on the seat I'm sitting on right now, and a couple of weeks later, picking it up from my pigeonhole when it's come in the post.

Or get a friend to Steamgift it to you.

Played it for an hour or so, and this game is as crazy as expected.  On top of that, this is a solid PC release.  No bugs (hell, it even alt-tabs nicely), and super smooth performance on my machine with everything maxed @1080p.

I only wish I didn't have to go to work today.   Heartbreak

I forgot to pre-order it for the DLC yesterday, so I guess I'll just wait it out and see how much mileage I get out of Skyrim. Might need something for the gap until TOR launches, but I could always just hit minecraft again and hit SR3 when it goes on sale, I guess.

My copy should arrive by the weekend.  Happily this will be just in time to avoid the TOR beta weekend rush!  Failing that there is Skyrim, or Batman...

Specs?

Core i5 2500K @4.5GHz
GTX570
8GB RAM

Frankly, I expect that PC to chew through anything at 1080p, so it may be irrelevant, but there's games that I can't quite hit 60FPS in with everything turned up all the way.  This isn't one of them.

I take it your CPU is overclocked. Otherwise we have the same setup, which is good. Means I'll probably be able to get the same kind of performance out of it.

Yeah - I'm pretty sure CPU performance isn't a huge factor for the game.  You'll definitely be good to go.

I'm getting some serious game freezing going on - things smooth as glass on ultra settings for a while, then everything quickly grinds to a halt (from smooth to low fps to dead stop in about 10 seconds) and the game is unresponsive until killed.

Specs here are I7 980 at 3.33ghz, 6 gig ram and a geforce 570 gfx. I've tried playing around with CPU affinities (as recommended by someone on the steam forum), but I can't find a number which doesn't play like ass (<5 fps) or end in the same freezing.

Have you tried adjusting some of the extra in-game graphics options?

Sorted it out - just needed to install the latest beta nvidia drivers (I was using the latest stable release). Works like a charm now.

Eh, I find it mildly disappointing. The gameplay itself is on, altho the hordes of enemies are a bit out of whack. A lot that made SR2 for me was the tons of brilliant cutscenes. In this, I'm overrun with forced activities and so-so cutscenes. If the cutscene content of the first gang takedown is indicative for the rest, then boohoo.

I've a feeling this is going to get old quickly. The intro was fantastic (possibly one of my favourite 5 mins of a new game ever), and the gameplay is good - the game as a whole is very polished...

Problem is that it seems kinda thin. Much of what made SR1 and 2 good has been ripped out. There are very few types of repeatable action missions (4 or 5), the clothing and vehicle options are sparce, few cribs (which you can't upgrade). It's become a much better 3rd person shooter, at the cost of a lot of depth. I don't really feel like I'm running a gang any more.

The only thing I'm not fond of so far are the voice actors for the main character - they seem a little weak compared to the options in 2.  I actually haven't jumped too far into the story yet, though - I'm mostly just enjoying the side activities, doing a bunch of the collection stuff and adding various vehicles to my garage/heiport (the Challenger tank just fits in your garage, btw), along with just raising hell.

FYI:

Quote
Do not do any of the activities in the open world before they are introduced in the story missions. If you do them in the open world it has the nasty side effect of skipping all the cutscene and introduction dialogue when doing the actual mission with them in it.

The main character singing along with Pierce about two missions in had me in stitches.

Edit: also the 80s channel is fun.

It feels like the voice actors are actually attempting to sing the song and I wonder if that's how they make it seem so.. bad. But in a good way.

Enjoying the game so far, but really itching for some co-op. It's a nice distraction from Skyrim and much needed because I don't want to burn myself out on it.

Started this yesterday with my friend, we always coop through Saints Row. Coop is really fun, but also quite buggy. We had issues that seemed mostly due to connection being a bit wonky. Like we would appear in different spots to each other, or the GPS would tell us to go in drastically different directions from each other.

Other than that, it was a blast.

My in game timer says, 15 hours. But I didn't do a ton of the city take over mini-games.

Oh, that's not bad at all. With co-op it should be quite a bit more for me.
