Can anyone recommend me decent (and free?) CAD software for making 2D stage/floor plans? Doesn't need to be too fancy. CadStd is what I've found so far. No idea if it's any good!

Can't answer your question on a free alternative, but if you only need the CAD program for a one-off project, Autodesk gives 30-day trials for most of their products.
