Once I unlocked all the classes, the appeal wore off for me. I'm just not twitchy enough to ever have a prayer against the gods and be able to get the good loot.

All you need is a core group of like 6 players or so. Go to worlds with few players in them. Kill the gods together. Grab the loot. Grab each others gears if you die and return it. Once you start getting def and atk pots and get your def high enough to take some medusa bombs....its all gravy.
Problem is finding that core group of 5-8 people to run with.
After a few days put into this, and I have to say, this is one of the single best MMOs I've ever played. Combat? Better than the vast majority of MMOs. Permadeath done in an appealing way that gets my pulse pounding? Check. No feeling like I'm 'missing out' if my character dies or I don't play for a while or whatever? Has that, too. Feeling of exploration? Definitely. Interesting boss fights? Oh yeah. Just killed Onyx the Mad God for the first time with a group of 4, was a wonderful experience. My character just perma-died after consuming a few pots, so I'll probably take a break for a few days, but that's not even a biggie... this game gets what's great about MMOs without adding in all the things that suck.
