I looked through the site and it does say it'll be turn-based... basically a prettier more realtime version of a PBEM? lol wut. Based on that, Laser Squad Nemesis is a MMO. Or maybe I didn't read carefully enough.

That could be interesting, but more as a piece of game design than something I'd play. Half the fun of the game did revolve around the enemy not being too smart. Or are they planning it to be online co-op and retain the depth without it being too slow for most?
I'm more than ready for JA3 single player though... hope this isn't the replacement for that.

It's....browser-based.....YUCK! That could be interesting, but more as a piece of game design than something I'd play. Half the fun of the game did revolve around the enemy not being too smart. Or are they planning it to be online co-op and retain the depth without it being too slow for most?

All this does is make me want to play more JA2, which is nearly as bad as Civ at making a 45 minute long session last for ten hours.

You should go check out the JA2 mods. The latest 1.13 version makes enemies a good deal smarter. (I.E. covering fire works, and they use it and smoke in order to advance, something that is also necessary for you to get things done well)

I did. Although I've been in the beta for a while. It is browser based but it really doesn't feel like it. It is much better than Jagged Alliance Back In Action if you ask me.

This is so quintessentially a game that is about your squad of guys with interesting personalities and contrasting attributes against AI. I can't even begin to see what it would gain from multiplayer implementation.
