Here

My take: Plusses for using a variant of the Ultimate F4 genesis (where Doom is created in the same mishap as F4) but minuses for making Thing the same size as the rest - he should be bigger, not just look like a Mudman.

Will I see it? Yes, this looks like it will be more true to the comics than (I assume) that Hellblazer thingy starring Keanu Reeves. Which only goes to show (thinking X-Men and Spiderman movies as well here) that Marvel are better at moviefication things than DC. Yes, I am actively ignoring Dolph Lundgren's stint as Punisher here. Ignore, ignore.

Ifilm has a different bootleg version of the trailer/preview. Shows a lot more.

The movie version looks more like the way he was originally drawn -- smaller and slightly "blobby" looking.

You might want to ignore that most recent Punisher rendition that fagged up the entire premise with John Travolta as "worst movie villain ever" and his fairy sidekick.

The fairy sidekick was kinda cool, actually. How can you hate Will Patton?

Don't forget the whacky, opera singing neighbors with hearts of gold!

He's the Punisher, folks.  He doesn't go in for Machiavellian plots where the bad guys do each other in.  He's not Iago for Christ's sake.  He also doesn't especially make nice with the neighbors and stand up for truth, justice, and the American way.  He doesn't go in for the whole "he shoots because he cares" line of bullshit.

He kills people for revenge.  Just keep it simple, goddamnit.

Would you like me to see if i could drag out the actual punnisher comic that most of that movie was based on.  Almost 60% of the new movie WAS based on a real punisher comic, just with some minor variations for "acceptable public viewing" (such as the fact that in the comic, the 'fat' opera guy was much more obese, and the punnisher actually used him to smother the Russian :P)

Darwinism is the Gateway Science.

Yes, that was Welcome back Frank. All of the tenant related stuff was loosely based on that comic.

However, John Travolta, the fairy sidekick (although such a thing isn't beyond Garth Ennis) and the entire idea that Frank Castle operates in "Tamba Bay", were not.

I love Will Patton. I just hated the fact that they had to make a fag out of his character. It didn't feel like it added anything to the character, more like it was thrown in just to "edgy" it up a little. Which it didn't do, especially when Travolta... well, let's face it, Travolta was fucking terrible. I'm really growing to hate him as a villain. He just never quite gets the whole villain thing right. He hams it up as if that's supposed to make us like the villain more or hate him or whatever.

I figured the whole tenats thing was from a comic, but again, I just really didn't like it. It complicated what should have been an otherwise good revenge story. I don't need the Punisher "humanized." I feel enough sympathy for the guy seeing his entire family get waxed.
