wants a greif tittle

on: August 09, 2010, 10:18:05 AM

So, somehow this came out last month and I totally missed it. I picked it up while I was in gamestop shopping for a used game for my godson's birthday present.

So far, it seems pretty enjoyable. The driving is much improved over the original, and the "zombies" are a nice change of content. My only gripe so far is the horrible targeting. When I use the lock-on targeting it seems I have just as much chance of locking on to the enemy right in front of me, or a barrel off to my left 100 yards out.

I have heard the game really excels with coop. But none of my friends seem to be interested.

If anyone here has it I would love to give it a try.

Terrible targeting is what made me not want to play it. Also, memories of wasting hours and hours looking for those damn Agility Orbs. I'm glad they added the orb ping but there's still too many issues with the game.

I had a good 6 hours or so of fun with it, then I beat it and traded it in. It's little more than reskin of the first one, except with less enemy diversity (1 gang instead of 3) and no boss fights.

Sucked that you still can't store melee weapons like the concrete-on-a-stick on the box cover.

Watched someone playing it for half an hour and thought it was possibly the most shallow game I'd seen yet. And given it's an Xbox game that's quite an achievement.

It got reviewed by Zero Punctuation recently who touched on the lack of structure and the bad aiming.

Didn't have much of a problem with aiming myself. If I accidentally locked onto the wrong target, I just killed it, then tried to target the one I wanted. There are only a few mobs stronger than the average chump, so there wasn't often a case of 'Badass boss roflstomping you but you keep locking onto the mooks'.
