That, and I'd like the base world to be 256 blocks tall instead of modding it.

I'd like boss mobs, findable artifacts, and a game mode where you have to locate some magical items and protect them from mobs stealing them to stop the world from exploding in a certain amount of time.

I have way too much time on my hands, I think.

Yes, that is obsidian and yes, this is on Survival.

I also need to take a better screenshot next sundown. Eldpack doesn't do long-distance sandstone shots well.

Hah, I was gonna do one of those with leaves, but I never got around to it.

On another note, I though the chikkinz would despawn with no one on the server.  I was wrong.  So I decided to feed the beast some more.  9 stacks of eggs?  5 minutes!

What mod are you using that uses the little toast icons for food.  Those little toast icons look awesome!

I also fear your chicken army.  Are you going to lease them to Bothrops for when he goes to collect taxes from the pig men?

If I could turn them into a leet fowl attack squad I totally would.  There's so many it's starting to lag the server, so I'ma kill em all, just so I can count how many there are now, will update my findings!

The texture pack I'm using is Misa's realistic texture pack (I had to run an HD fix, since it's a 64 bit pack).  It's pretty neat.  http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/69354-64x19pre2-misas-realistic-texture-pack-3rd-update-1oct/

Those forums have a whole shitton of packs too.

UPDATE:  Apparently it's 325 Chikkinz where you start to see a hit on the server, but only slightly.

Add some boss mobs randomly throughout the world and minecraft would be perfect.

Just 325? That's not exactly a lot, given how simple their AI etc is.

Maybe some point soon we can lighten the load on the kind folks who host here.

Is it just me or is that a bit pricey? At first thought it was per server which would have been a fair deal, but it looks like it's per player. swamp poop

I understand that their main selling point is ease of use, but still...

Oh damn, I thought that was per server.  I figured they'd host a server for ~$20/mo when the service goes live and 25 of your friends can join.  $12/mo per person seems a tad steep.

How much does it usually cost to host a server?

Varies but if you are renting the equipment as well as the connection/bandwidth anything under ~$75/month is suspect for running Minecraft which is a resource hog.

Looking at hosts who have opened up selling server hosting for Minecraft. The going rate is about 1$ per slot, most include VOIP as well along with plugin support, backups, and map dumps.

I have been looking into this very thing.

EDIT: That average will vary by host, some sell slots, other sell and price by ram.

No, it looks like an FX for the area under the bedrock. Also, items prepping, including starting up a 3ed world is in this release. In other words, an aether is going into the game.

Thus my frustration with working on Wurm.

Enchantment just got put on hiatus, after getting just enough of the basic framework in there for modders to finish for them. Dunno what the epic new feature omg guys is yet.

As in, the void under bedrock.

Yes, aether is a world that has floating islands and such.

Well, GUI, world asset ( the table ), enchant visual FX on items ( gloss ) and XP orb consumption seem to be done. The affects of enchants seem to be missing, intentionally or not.

Ok so I'm a fucking addict and I started working in 1.9.3.  Has sandstone always been naturally occurring?  I've never run into it before without baking it but now I find it under some sand.  Odd.

It hasn't always been naturally occurring, no. He added that a patch or two after sandstone itself was added as a craftable thing.

Ah I see, yeah, most of my sand excavation was in a world generated before sandstone was added.  That explains it, thanks.

This appears to be an inactive "air" portal inside a stronghold.

According to one of the threads about it, the missing blocks can be "fixed" with an Ender Eye to make what is assumed to be a portal that will work later on down the line.
