Typical empire-builder.  Typical Bigpoint polish.
It is high-fantasy with the requisite races and their strengths/weaknesses.  Also heavy on magic use, so you must pray for mana and cast various spells.
There's terrain modification, only this requires REMOVING obstacles so you can strategically place buildings.  This creates an interesting synergy with unit production, since certain units require certain buildings.  Smart placement is a must, as is the usual expansion to other cities.
There's a hero system, with skill trees and XP.  Units are fully upgradable and heavy on stats.  Artifacts are integral to the game and can be bought or found in the world via exploration or theft.  This gives more importance to neutral cities.  Certain artys require alliance level action to acquire- these are uber powerful obviously.
UI is very well done and the graphics are pleasing with high quality art.

Most everything else is fairly typical.  Decent game.  Worth a try if you like empire builders with a bit of rpg-like depth.  The speed is pretty quick so the fun comes reasonably fast (after about a solid day of building you start pumping units) and premium use can be earned easily via quest rewards and market sales.  It's SUPPOSED to be some kind of real-time game, but I havent gone deep enough to test this premise.  We shall see.

My 1 gripe so far is that the building queue is only 2 structures deep and I havent found a way to increase this yet.
