Blizzard isn't the only company that's ever had problems launching an MMOG. At least they're being vocal about their mea culpa, and taking the financial hit to make up for it.
Seven free days X number of players affected = not a negligable sum

He gave more free days to people on the bad servers. Nope, free days to people with characters on the bad servers. It's an important distinction. Even though I haven't tried to use any of my characters on the bad servers during the period affected, I get the free days. If you haven't made a character on a server such as Icecrown yet, you've missed out on a week of free gaming. |

Well, I got a level 1 character in Blackrock because I use it to take snapshots of the population on the servers and I got the free days :)

Good. Now he can make another post next week for the many servers and login server that puked this weekend. He could make it a weekly event, like a friday evening post from the Prez. Hopefully he is cracking down on their support and community and network ops people there. |
