Saw this a few days ago.  Great date movie.  It's a solid little action/comedy flick.  I laughed aloud several times at the absurdity of it all.  Tom Cruise easily killed over 100 people in this movie without batting an eyelash.  That said, it never gets gory, and there is a little budding romance between he and Cameron Diaz that the chick I was with seemed to dig.

If you ever decide to watch it, go in expecting a comedy, not a badass spy movie.  This ain't Mission Impossible.  There's a lot of dialogue that is pretty tongue-in-cheek and audacious that pairs well with the sketchy circumstances that comprise the "action" elements of the film.

Tom Cruise starring with Cameron Diaz. Two reasons never to pay money to watch this movie.

I honestly thought Vanilla Sky was pretty damn good, although I can see reasons why not everyone would like it.

Don't worry, when Tom Cruise becomes popular to like again in a few years, everyone will come around.

If he pisses on a copy of Dianetics on national TV, I promise to pay to see his next movie. Or at least buy a ticket- can't guarantee I will stick around.

You sound like my mom.  She only likes actors who she thinks are "good people."  Hollywood is chock-full of shitbags.  He's a good actor.  Get over yourself.

Can I just not watch it because I thought it looked stupid? Or do I have to have an agenda first?

What lives has he ruined?  He's just an idiot like every other idiot that joins a cult (or a religion).  The only difference is he's got an (understandably) massive hardon for himself.

It is kind of stupid. It's a good one to catch on HBO in like 3 years though when you're bored.

I went to go see it with my wife, we both thought it was fun. There were definitely amusing situations all over the movie. We rate movies as either a waste of money or not a waste of money. We rated this not a waste of money.

People getting down on Cruise for his religious views are silly, considering I feel that anybody who is a member of any religion is just as much of a nutball. I don't discriminate because people are fucking insane nut jobs. There needs to be more understanding and forgiveness for each others differences and viewpoints.

Scientology is not a religion. Do we really need to have this discussion again? Can't you just research the facts about them?

And Tom Cruise isn't just a follower. He uses his film sets to try and convert other actors. Not only by talking to them, but by organized large efforts.

Christianity, and its various break offs do the same, thing, but yes I agree scientology is cult more than a religion.

There isn't a difference.  Since everyone is inured to the old religions that have been around for thousands of years, the only way to see how crazy they are is to look at the new religions that have cropped up in the last couple hundred years.

Religious discussion aside, I still enjoyed the movie.
