Just as I'm getting back into it, I remember the two things I despised the most about it:
/rant on
People (seemingly 1/3rd of everyone on public servers) who have the shock combo macroed/hacked - Need I say more?
Translocator - Why is this stupid thing even in the game at all? It just allows the 1337 kiddies to run around maps (especially CTF) nearly impervious. Even more annoying, when you think you've put some space between yourself and the other team, they can just teleport up to you, ruining any advantage you may have normally gained through tactics/taking an odd unguarded route/beating them off of ya/simply outrunning them.
Don't gimme some line about how the translocator takes "talent" to use...dodging projectiles takes talent, repeatedly hitting fire/alt fire does not.

I fucking hate translocator. That's why I got sick of the original UT and that's why I subconsciously haven't played any since. Thank you for reminding me.

Scrub. ;) He cried cheap as I beat him with “no skill moves” while he performed many difficult dragon punches. He cried cheap when I threw him 5 times in a row asking, “is that all you know how to do? throw?” I gave him the best advice he could ever hear. I told him, “Play to win, not to do ‘difficult moves.’”
This was a big moment in that scrub’s life. Lol |

I've actually been using it a lot lately, especially when people wanan run up close to me....then they learn to fear my Piston Punch of Fury! heh
And plus, I have a neat little trick I like to do with it on the one Assault map with the weapons convoy (i'll laugh if it's actually called AS-Convoy).

I've been high up in competitive AoK and been casual friends with a few high-level CSers (within Australia) and I don't see much seperating any of them (although AoK was alot more mature until AoC hit shelves and eventually brought Arabia and Fuedal rushes to the fore). |

Sirlin is not representative of the fighting game community.
The kid with the huge baggy hammer pants and a shirt that says "I'm a fucking jackass" who is popping quarters into an original Virtua Fighter 1 arcade machine is representative of the fighting game community.
The type of guy that would call you a scrub. And would do so with a straight face.
