Last night, I witnessed a friendship get destroyed because they discussed their problems in their blogs, in front of all their other friends (and bored, nosey people like me), instead of keeping it private. You cannot say that without providing links. It's just not fair to the rest of us. Bring the noise. Cheers.............. Ok, I'll see what I can do. That depends. Some of the most fun and affable folks I have met have been Scottish people that DON'T HAVE TO FUCKING LIVE HERE ANYMORE. Bond fled this place for a fucking reason. Which I believe was the main thrust of the Trainspotting argument. The weather's shite, the entertainment's shite and the maudlin and depressing state of the architecture is shite. But perhaps that's just Glasgow. And Aberdeen. And Dundee. And Edinburgh. And every other fucking place I've ever visited in this rat-infested shithole that is Scotland. Except Stirling. Stirling is fucking beauty and perfection and I won't hear any different. I'm having a bad day. I've just been offered promotion and I'm not taking it well at all. |

Glasgow architecture is lovely. I especially like the art school and other Maciintosh buildings. I really love that bit around the Cathedral, too (for some reason I can't remember the name of the area... the motorway unfortunately cuts it up). Lots of renovations there and it's beautiful. I'd rather spend a year in Glasgow than a week in Edinburgh... you might as well stay in England.
But, yes... the weather is crap. I couldn't live there very long, just for that reason.

I really love that bit around the Cathedral, too (for some reason I can't remember the name of the area... That would be the Cathedral Precinct in post City Af Kult-chir times. Properly it is Townhead, pronounced Townheed. It is a magnificent Cathedral with a unique and important history. |
