Hopper dies at 74

You will be missed, you crazy old bastard.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

He's one I really will miss.

Doh.

Is he the second or the third in this round of "they come in threes"?

I always liked his style. He will be missed.

He'd been sick for a while now. Shame to see him go, but it wasn't all that unexpected. Now I am curious as to who will be the third.

The scene with him and Walken is one of the greatest of all time.

Dennis Hopper has played some of the best scenery-chewers of all time.  King Koopa, the Deacon, the dictator from Land of the Dead, Victor Drazen in 24 season 1.  There has never been a better bad-movie villain.

I was responding to Triforcer's statement with the acutal best bad movie villain. Although the last couple pictures I saw of Dennis Hopper, he was looking kind of Cristopher Lee-ish himself.

Second if you're going to insult Gary Coleman by elevating this fucking hack to his level. Hopefully number 2 will be Jack Nicholson which will set up a nice triumvirate of actors who've made a career of playing the exact same fucking character for decades, yet are somehow regarded as "good" at their job. That would make Tom Cruise a shoe in for the number 3 spot.

Dennis Hopper dying 20 years ago would have been sad. Dennis Hopper dying now is meh. Considering the only thing of note he's done in the last five years is shill for investment banks and retirement funds looking to snag boomers who want to pretend they're still young, it's hard to muster anything but a shrug. Also, he's not a good villain. Gary Oldman, now he's a good villain. Except in 5th Element. Daniel Day Lewis is good too. Fuck the guy who played Floogie or whatever his name was in Spy Kids is a better villain than hopper. The minute Hopper shows up on screen it's just "Great. "Edgy" disjointed drug addled rambling with a mildly constipated face." Ugh.

4th, actually.  You all forgot Dio who died before Coleman and the drummer for Slipknot who died on Friday.

Dio had to have been part of a different trio, 2 weeks is too long a time.

And the drummer from Slipknot does not count in the threes equation because if you say his name the general populace will not have a clue who he is.

You guys sound just like my old Auntie Rose talking about bad things happening in threes.  She also used to make the Malocchio sign at all sorts of things (like divorced men) and the sign of the cross whenever she passed a priest, church or cemetery.  Some of you guys are like her.  A crazy old lady.

Yeah, what the fuck?  Seriously, 74 years olds who can't dance for their supper get no sympathy regardless of their previous 40 years of entertainment contribution.  Fucking hacks.
