Game's still under NDA (closed beta is still goin on, I believe anyone can join as of now) even though the Open Beta starts this Wednesday the 28th so I'll be typically vague.  Rather than blather-repeat, IGN (cough) did a pretty good hands-on:
http://pc.ign.com/articles/107/1074663p1.html

The studio is obviously pretty small and fairly Indy.  Made up of former Westwood guys and people from the tabletop maker Petroglyph (of Panzer General fame).  Given the quality those two studios have individually produced over the years I went into the CB somewhat hopeful.  I'll just say I wasnt disappointed.  Where I expected to /uninstall after 5 minutes I found myself saying "yes please" and going through the entire tut. instance.

At the very least, it's a nice diversion till D3 and/or MtG:Tactics comes out.

EDIT:  "True Games" (the other studio involved) produced Warrior Epic, which I've never played but seems to have a similar vibe. (Diablo Clone)

Umm, if you are under an NDA, you shouldn't even be vague.

Most of what I said has been said publicly in the link or other hands-on (save for my comparison to --).  Vague plaigiarism is an NDA-breaker?
Meh...  I'll erase what I said then.

The people behind this were also behind Warrior Epic as well though.  Lulz doesn't even begin to describe how bad that game was.

I actually went ahead and gave Warrior Epic a shot last night.  Last time I visited the game it was still in development (long ago).  I wouldnt say it was so bad it was beyond description - that's a bit strong.  Maybe it's had enough time to simmer since release and some of the suck has been strained out (shrug), I believe their 'Battlegrounds' patch is fairly recent.  The worst part was the RMT w/o a doubt though.

Anyways, with a good group there's fun to be had imo.

Think this went open beta, looked at a gameplay video on youtube didn't seem laughably bad.

Simplistic maybe and I couldn't tell if there was a loot system to speak of or just the cards, anyways I have certainly played games that looked more ghetto then what I saw on yt so it might be worth a whirl.

Downloading now...

... at your peril

Yet again, a great idea hammered into shit.  Maybe after they sorted out their pubby snafu they made some appropriate changes, but  I havent played since I started the thread so I've no idea how they've come along.  Let us know if it's still missing a few chromosomes.

Yeah this shit sucks. Controls don't work, you can't even change the keys that move your camera. Like Spellborn all of the game is so sloppy that the creative customized combat deck mechanic is meaningless.
