So, just cought the trailer for this at the beginning of Clash.

http://www.theexpendablesmovie.net/

Holy hell, Talk about an A list of Action Heroes in the cast.  Stallone, Arnie, Li, Statham, Lundgren, Austin and more.  I hear Stallone actually tried to get JCVD in the movie as well, but it didnt pan out.

Looks like it has the potential to be good, but I have to wonder, even if it IS a massive blockbuster, will it actually turn a profit after they get finished paying all the actors ACK!

Also have to love the Arnie quote in there too.

All the actors apparently worked at scale.

Riiiiiiiise!

Stef and I saw this last night, and it was fucking awesome.  This is what the A-Team should have been - completely over the top violence, ridiculous stunts, and a plot that didn't piss you off.

It's a better acted, slightly more believable shoot em up with an A list cast.  They got the fucking governor of california to be in it for christs sake.

If you need more convincing, heres just one tidbit:

Maybe I am getting old in my old age, but I was somewhat disappointed. Yes, this movie had some awesome parts - the fly by scene referred to above specifically - but this movie suffered from a few things:

1 - Sly looks fucking old. I mean really old. It was hard to believe this character was in anyway as athletic as he had to be.
2 - The one on one fight scenes suffered from too much close up. Probably because all these guys are old and cannot do it any more.
3 - everyone has guns but there is 15 minutes of solid hand to hand combat in the final act where it is obvious that some of the bad guys are just waiting for thier turn at fisticuffs when in reality they would be pulling out a gun or at least reloading
4 - Nothing in the characters supported going back to the island to save the girl
5 - Stratham's fight with the guy that beat his girlfriend had no reason to be in the movie. Wow, a trained mercenary can beat up civilians. What a shock.
6 - And this one really annoyed me - just before Sly goes into the castle ahead of his team he says "Ok we only have 20 minutes so let's go".  Only have 20 minutes? until what? They don't know you are here. There is no clock ticking.  Oh, 20 minutes more of the movie - I got it....

All of that said, the opening scene is awesome, the black guy with the explosive shotgun is awesome, the fly by is awesome.  So there is enough reason to see it if you want an action flick.

I have never played WoW.

Overall a great movie imo.  Suitably campy on purpose and delightfully over-the-top.

It is amazing the shape Stallone is in. When it comes down to Schwarzanegger vs. Stallone, Stallone wins by a mile.

HGH and steroids.

And a lot of cosmetic surgery for the face.

I completely agree.  And I thought it was probably Dolph's best performance - kind of a waste.
