This is a comedy. It is hard to explain.

Sarah invites new boyfriend Adam home and their relationship gets serious. Her beloved dog, Wilfred, immediately develops a rivalry with Adam.

Here's the thing: Adam and the viewer see Wilfred as a man in a dog suit. Adam can talk with him. Sarah and everyone else simply see a dog. All other animals are also played by people in animal suits.

Wilfred really is a dog. Apart from talking to Adam, smoking pot and watching DVDs, the rules governing the Wilfred character are the same as a dog. He pines for Sarah when she's away, he pees on things, sniffs other dogs' butts, attacks the postman, etc.

It's NSFW due to constant strong language (dogs don't have rules) and full frontal nudity (nudists).

Here's a taste (hopefully not geoblocked): http://player.sbs.com.au/programs#/programs_08/sneakpeektv/sneakpeektv/playlist/Wilfred-New-Series/

Full episodes (if not geoblocked): http://www.sbs.com.au/shows/wilfred/watchonline/page/i/1/h/Watch-Online/

The second series is currently on SBS in Australia. It has been bought by US cable network IFC.

Just started watching this, on the third episode. I'm enjoying it so far, if you're looking for something new to watch you should check this out.

Are you watching the original, which I was posting about, or the US version (same guy in the same dogsuit, everything else different)?

I watched the whole season and loved it. I don't know how it differed from the Aussie version, but the US version was pretty damn funny and weird.

Fight Club, but Tyler Durden is a dog.  I'm loving this.

The guy who plays Wilfred in both versions has been ordered to pay $325,000 in damages for assaulting a bus driver.

Why am I not surprised...

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

US version just ended.

Disappointed in the ending, to be honest, but the series in general was worth a watch.  Non-US version, as usual, was a bit better.

I wasn't disappointed with the ending, it was the only thing they could have done.

I think there were other ways to do the same explanation that would have felt more like an ending...
