There is potential here. I'll be curious to see what comes of it. Yea, only because of the overwhelming success of the GTA series. The only potential I can see as someone with absolutely zero interest in gangster culture is that there aren't any goddamn swords and elves that will appear. Prediction: The game will be announced that it's Rated M. You'll grind up by killing your kin in an inner city until you level up to move into another area where you're in a race war. Then you can either nab a record deal or open up a brothel as a pimp. Or you can be a gigolo. Also, don't forget - you can kill hookers with spray cans. Oh and the soundtrack will be the absolute dopest shit. The game is announced and rated T. You'll grind up by killing other undead in your home village until you hit ~20 and move into a nightelf forest where you're in a racewar. Then you can either start gathering resources or buy your resources on the auction block and set up shop. Or you can wander around looking for elf boobies. Also, don't forget - you can fuck up people who are crafting with snowballs. Oh and the soundtrack is a clever fusion of Braveheart and Gladiator. It's the absolute dopest shit. I have absolutely zero faith in companies without an extremely well off backer and a history of good customer service. So that basically leaves NCSoft and it's subsidaries and SOE to a much lesser extent. What? Don't laugh. At least they had the balls to make Planetside. And Nebu is right, a general chat channel in anything billed 'hip-hop' will make you a drooling idiot. Edit: Sorry for the complete incohesiveness of this post. I just came off a 4 hour binge of RE4 and my mind isn't working correctly. |

Lemme fill in the gaps a bit. DJ Pooh will be creating the many stories that will define the Hip-Hop Urban based MMO 404 Gaming is currently developing "Hip-Hop urban based MMO" opens the door for jokes about a MMORPG where you play a rapper. Yes, I'm aware that a "hip-hop Urban" MMO doesn't neccessarily mean you do play a rapper, but it's more or less what we've been talking about on the thread so far. (Or, at the very least, folks who are personifying the "urban rap" persona.) With me so far? It seems they've been power leveling the rappers for long enough they've finally decided to reveal the MMORPG about it. At the risk of offending rap fans, much of the talent you hear about now has been handily "power leveled" into the national spotlight by conglomerates such as MTV. Busting mad rhymes is mostly image, or at least that's MTV's approach. No worries, I'm not talking about anyone with real talent. They can even sell cell phones in game. Anybody else see that national cell phone commercial with the rappers althroughout? It's been playing for awhile. "South side, west side", ect ect. Tried to find a net link to it but failed. Throw this into the MMORPG about rappers, voila, selling cell phones in game. Of course, explaining this step by step entirely robs it of teh funny, but I'm nothing if not gracious enough to explain the method to my madness ad nausia. |
