I wish I cared. I don't like where I have to download the game from. So I haven't even gotten to that step.

Which is the command that crashes the server?

Account is finally activated and I'm trying to burn some time before my hot date tonight. Grrr...

I don't care, either, Signe, and I'll play just about any free beta.  Wish has made me ill.

If I'd burned the beta sotware on a cd I'd be tempted to chuck it in the fireplace.  I shall have to content myself with overwriting the file with random data a few dozen times to cleanse my harddrive.

It's a shame.  I want a skill based game and live content sounds like good fun, if they can actually pull it off.  There are just so many things that annoy me about Wish and it's not likely to be something I'd even consider.  I don't think it's possible to fix the amount of things I find irritating about it, either... even if they wanted to.

That avatar does look like some sort of Ryzom thingamabob.

Yes, but massaged with PSP a bit. They had some sort of make your own desktop picture thingy on the Ryzom homepage last year, I think that's where this image came from.

No, I don't play Ryzom, although I lasted longer in the Ryzom beta than I did with Wish.

Ryzom is surprisingly interesting.  Good framework and setting, they just need to fill it with content.

Also, this thread has a case of the moot.

Personally, I think Ryzom is a bit of a dog.  It's pretty and I liked the Stanza system, but beyond that it has absolutely nothing going for it.  The crafting could have been good, but instead it was slow and boring.

Yes, the crafting is a fairly mind-numbing experience, but crafting in 95% of MMO's is a boring grind.  The harvesting has more in common with EQ2's crafting, with "events" and counter skills to recover from them.

Looks like they added yet another slash command:

/vapor

But seriously... who didn't see this coming?  Ryzom is next.

No, it's not. Other games I'd rather not name, that have not yet been released are next.

In other news, I'm honestly surprised WB/Monolith (as much as I like the latter), still thinks there is mass market appeal for MxO.

I wouldn't call it hate. More indifference than hate.
