Further proof that Italians have suspect taste in games.

December 27th:

Deadspace - € 6.79

Complete Popcap Collection - € 49.99

Day of Defeat: Source - €2

Zombie Driver - € 2.24

Hearts of Iron III - € 7.49
---

Deadspace is a nice horror FPS, right? And finally the entire popcap collection at an half decent price. Might be tempted to buy it...

Dead Space is okay but the PC version has some odd bugs. It's a cool horror/survival game though.

Funny thing about the complete popcap collection. Not worth i$50. Peggle and Plants vs Zombies at $7.49 a piece IS with it though. I'd tally everything else in at about $5 more. So if it were $20, I'd jump on it. But that's only because of Bookworm Adventures.

They should've put Gyromancer in there.

Sadly, Gyromancer is part of the "yeah, these guys aren't really known for PC games" Square-Enix pack.

I'm still not sure if I'll ever play Torchlight, but at $5 I bought a copy for me and four copies for other people who are more likely to play it than I am.

This is what I did but I didn't buy it for myself, just a bunch of others that can enjoy SP games.  I did buy myself Deadspace on impulse though, probably will regret it since the only survival horror that ever impressed me was RE5.

Dead Space was better than RE5.

Hell, RE4 was better than RE5.

Bought Zombie Driver too, reminds me of GTA2 which was pretty good times.

Poopy sale today.

I confused dungeon siege with dungeon keeper and got a little bit confused by the reviews of Space Siege, I read. Still wondering if it is worth 2.50 €.

I was on my way to ask, thanks, too bad because 4 people could  buy it for co-op for like no moneys.

Prey for less than an Odwalla?  No?  Metacritic seems to like it?  I can play a nonalcoholic Cherokee mechanic?  No?

That Space Siege game came free with some other game I bought at some point. I still haven't even installed it, it looks horrible.

Prey isn't bad (just really bland), although I think it's been on sale for pretty cheap a million times before.

I've actually heard a lot of really good things about Killing Floor (the multiplayer anyway).  It's obviously a bit lower budget than the L4D games, but it's supposedly pretty fun.  I'm contemplating a purchase.

Obviously everybody already has Orange Box.

Picked up Burnout Paradise.

Each time Prey comes up for super cheap I reiterate my endorsement of it.  This is no exception.  $2.25 is cheaper than it's been, too.

I figure your word is worth a $2.45 (I get to pay tax since Valve is in WA) gamble. Downloading now.

Prey's good, but if you're on a high resolution monitor you'll have to do some ini tweaks to get the resolution right.

WTF?  It SOLD OUT?  Like, they ran out of machines to copy the fucking bits to a new image?  The enter key refused to complete the copy command?

I can't wait until the new rights utopia emerges and the copyright overlords crumble, even if it means every creative thing made afterward sucks, because it means I'll never again have to learn that a digital copy of information SOLD OUT.

Also, I already own Bioshock and wanted Prey.

Hello, BioShock - or game #11 bought during the Holiday Sale period.

Just guessing, but could it be that Steam get a limited amount of "keys" from developers for the games that are on sale, and it's because those keys run out that the offers are no longer available?

I read something recently about them selling keys, or running out of keys to something. Must be along those lines?

Our sale on Prey was so popular we ran out of keys!! If we can get more, we'll try to bring this deal back. In the meantime, 2K Games has added BioShock to the set of daily deals on Steam, at 75% OFF today only. Happy holidays!

Just gave in and bought Killing Floor. It's always looked interesting to me, I wanted to doanload a demo, which they don't have, and I was out of bandwidth to DL the thing when they had that free weekend. I'll have a muck around with it later after I've downloaded it and decide if I want to add it to my wife's and lan-accounts.

Dudes.  I know the putative reason.  They did the same thing a few days ago.  A key is a #.  They aren't hard to make.  Just because you're accustomed to the argument doesn't mean there's any logic or reason to the notion that they can't take my money for their game because they ran out of random numbers.

I'm sure they have a backup for every game if keys run out. In this case, it was Bioshock for any 2K game. When they get more keys, they'll bring them back. No company gives another company the ability to make keys though. That'd be stupid of the highest order.

Burnout Paradise is a fun game. Been missing a racer since I've been console-free, and don't like to drop a lot on them because they're diversionary, I don't really get too deep into them. But I like smashy arcady driving and car collecting, even if this isn't quite on the level of Mafia's garage of badass stolen cars. Just what I needed after vegging out with FFH2.

Valve is not the publisher of Prey -- 2K Games is. It's not their fault 2K didn't give them enough keys to meet demand. If Valve "sold out" of one of their games, like say the Orange Box, on Steam that would be worthy of ridicule.

I know I'm not a statistically valid sample size, but these past couple sales I've definitely shown Valve right when they said that peole would buy well more than four times as many games if games charged a fourth of what they do. I usually don't pick up older games, unless they're generally regarded as classics, but I've jumped on a whole bunch of these <10$ sales they've had the past couple months.

I bought Ghostbusters for $6 and quickly found out that it is apparently a buggy POS on the PC that is nearly unplayable. Go me!

Odd. I encountered maybe two noticeable bugs thru the whole game.

I can't even play the game to be honest. I get to a part in the opening cutscene where a woman runs toward a musuem guard and the game just freezes. Checking the Steam and Atari forums lots of people have various problems with Ghostbusters on the PC including crashes during the opening cutscene. There are all kinds of crazy fixes that people recommend but none of them worked for me. I just got "lucky" I guess. Oh well, I got lucky. Considering this and the recent slowdown in DA:O is my only gaming problem in probably 20+ computer games over the last year or so I'll call it even.
