I have a long list of synth and electropop I want and it seems 90% of it is still available in Sweden and nowhere else. Stuff like Page, Universal Poplab, Fairlight Children, Deine Lakaien (can probably get this from Germany easily if need be).
The list is much longer, but basically, the $ -> SEK exchange rate is just fantastic for music shopping, EMS shipping is pretty cheap, and - well - hotstuff.se is the shittiest most unreliable website ever.

I'm kind of surprised FC is so hard to find, considering Apop isn't too hard to find in the states. Have you tried checking Waterloo Records?

Waterloo is a terrible piece of shit store that only had the domestic release of Welcome to Earth last time I was there, which I got years back. They didn't have any Covenant or Wolfsheim, and generally if I'm looking for Synth I'll look for that stuff first since if they have any, they'll have that as it all got released domestically. Most of this stuff does not have domestic releases. Fairlight Children is actually really hard to find and I'm not about to pin my hopes on that den of pop counter-counter-culture having stuff like Spektralized or Ravenous. I wish I was back in Virginia at Plan 9 or in SF at Amoeba just to scour the used stuff every day :( It's AMAZING how crappy the Austin CD-shopping scene is. Just dreadfully bad.

Also, I just came across Kate Ryan's remix of Desireless' Voyage Voyage. How weird.

They didn't have Wolfsheim?! That's fucking sad, I can get that shit as digital off of amazon.
Also: everything you said about finding music here is truth. I can't believe this place prides itself in music and yet I've found more obscure albums much more frequently in a fucking nowhere-place like Omaha. Too many goddamn hipsters.

I just found Handful of Snowdrops pre-albums and Land of the Damned on newsgroups. My mind just got blown. I've been trying to dig that up for a decade+.
Ahoy, if you're in Austin and listen to electroshit, we should really get together (you know, to "trade" music). Also, Iris is at Elysium tomorrow with CTRL. I'm going.

Hah, I'm not nearly as into the electro scene as you are, it seems, as I only recognize CTRL in that post. 808 Bit for 11 euros Not sure how much good it is, unless anybody knows a way to fool them into shipping it overseas.

Iris has been around forever, are local, used to be called Forgiving Iris until some No-talent assclowns used it and they switched to Iris. Just look up "Annie, Would I Lie to You" on Youtube. Oh, and add Iris to the search or you'll end up with Annie Lennox. That song title is... Well, it could've been better. Anwyay, they're great.

Sure enough, last place I thought of looking has a lot of really obscure shit for DD: emusic.com. I just finished downloading 808 Bit from them (hooray no more youtubing it!). You might try a search there. If you don't feel like signing up for it, I'll see what I can do about this folder...
Also: Holy shit are russian music websites hard to navigate.
EDIT: Good call on Iris, I'm digging it so far. I'd probably hit that show were I not working.

As a resident of Omaha, I call bullshit. You couldn't find anything not related to Brighteyes if you kidnapped the fucking band, and made them record an album in your basement.
