Hmm, Lum's entry is nicer than mine. :P It has links and stuff. And no errors that I can see.

No fair.

You wrote it yourself, didn't you.

Fursuit gets himself banned in a thread started by Raph to fight with Lum over who has the better Wikipedia entry, and I declare it the greatest thread in the history of the internet.

Oh dear.  This is the time of year for love and charity, you know.  You should, at least, give him that red name before you send him packing.

Uh, no offense, but that has to be the flimsiest excuse for a banning that I've ever seen. I thought this whole thread was just in good fun.

Now you've gone and spoiled Christmas!!!!

Just because you're the face of a company doesn't mean you have to be nice. If I posted the conversation between Bruce and I, you wouldn't call it a flimsy excuse. He's been teetering on the edge of being banned for a long time. This was just icing.

Crap, and people call me an anal mod.  And by people I mean Raph, because we're only talking about him here.

Hmm.  Someone needs to update Raph's Wiki entry to note that he trolled the nets ugliest troll into banhood.

It's the start of a new year.  It's time for confession and resolutions.  Couldn't Bruce just say he's sorry and resolve never to be himself again?

Where is Paelos?  I'm not qualified to argue the Christian side.

Edit:  I see he's not himself anymore, anyway.  Nice job!

Damn, schild bans the Furry Who Shall Not Be Named and all of a sudden he isn't a nice guy? The fact that it took this long shows that he's much more fair than most.

Anyways....Raph: A Theory of Fun or Jump to Lightspeed? I can only buy one. What would you suggest? :)

That's been done before, and he has proven it UNPOSSIBLE.

Can I simultaneously think it isn't Bruce's fault and it's still a good idea?

He's like the mosquito bite you guys can't stop scratching.  90% of the threads derailed by Bruce are derailed because someone else tried to make a tired joke about Bruce and how he derails threads.  Seriously.  Stop scratching.

Have I stumbled into another universe? People are taking up for TFWSNBN? (too lazy to type it all)

"We live in a country, where John Lennon takes six bullets in the chest, Yoko Ono was standing right next to him and not one fucking bullet! Explain that to me! Explain that to me, God! Explain it to me, God!" - Denis Leary summing up my feelings about the nature of the universe.

Actually you don't have to type it. It's a word censor. Just type, you know, the original name and it'll automagically change it for you.

Hoist by my own petard.

Digression: at work recently we had a discussion about the fact that Morse code was no longer taught, and that soon nobody would remember why dit dit dit dot dot dot dit dit dit meant "help!" That led us to a hunting expendition for phrases that used to mean something but no longer do but we use out of habit.

For example, "red letter day" -- the day when letterpress printers would do the second pass on their books and print all the big initial caps at the start of chapters in red ink. Since there was a lot less of this to do, it was a special day.

Uh, what is the direct reference for hoist by my own petard? Sounds like Shakespeare, so I ought to know it, dammit.

It's from Hamlet.

"For 'tis sport to have the engineer
Hoist with his own petard"

Apparently, "petard" is "bomb" in French. Specifically, an archaic explosive device that was used to blow through city walls and gates.

Hamlet used the phrase in jest, reflecting about those who plotted against him, and how he would lay the "bomb" (petard) they'd set up for him, right under their own asses.

"But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon."

So yeah, it's one of those words that has no meaning outside the phrase itself. But then again, maybe the French still use it. I'd be interested to know the French equivalents for words like "grenade" or "landmine".
