$4.99 is cheap enough for me.

Guess I will have to pick this up now.

Friend of mine told me I needed to pick it up a couple months ago....seemed interesting.

It's a little short and I wish the puzzles became a little bit more challenging towards the end, but for $4.99 you cant go wrong. Definitely a game you should play through once just for the experience.

OK, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get half the fucking puzzle pieces even in the first 2 levels.  Interesting game, but fucking Christ I can't figure out what I'm suppose to do for several stages.

I had the same thing, then I got annoyed when I realized I would get no super power to finish the older levels so I looked up a walkthrough. If the game had at least a modicum of tutorial about the whole "shit that glows, and basics of rewind" I would not have had to stoop to said level.

Go and do the rest of the levels first. You get more accustomed to the game as time goes and your brain will subconsciously work on things. There's one piece on the first level that was really swamp poop though.

The one where I had to jump on a guy to get extra height was retarded. No, I'm not spoilering that so people who are playing won't have to go to gamefaqs. There's NO REASON why you would ever try to do this at this point in the game, nothing indicates that you can jump on them successfully, in previous levels you touch it and you die. This made me angry.

Then I started getting annoyed at the lack of story and poor story telling, got bored, never finished it. Let's just say my BIIF would be "No."

What are you talking about?!  The first levels not only show you how you can jump on something to kill it, but it even shows you that jumping on two of them gives you more height..

Hell, there are signs that illustrate you can jump on them.

Not sure how much more hand holding one would need..

Is he talking about one of the backtrack levels where you had to jump on a dead one or something?

Probably. Honestly all I remember is thinking "Fuck this game" when I saw what I had to do after reading gamefaqs.

It might have been one of those that you couldn't jump on, except when it's dead then you can jump on it, in midair as it was falling, I don't know, it was retarded, I remember that much.

It sounds worse than it really is. At the end of the day people probably know whether or not they like these kinds of games, it's just at 4.99 and considering the art and atmosphere Braid has more going on than most. I thought some of the puzzles were quite ingenious, but there's a very thin line between a good puzzle and something that drives you up the wall, and that line is different for every person.

If you're the kind of person that gets annoyed easily at this sort of thing (not trying to say that's bad), then use gamefaqs. For 4.99 you'll still going to enjoy solving 45 out of 50 puzzles and gamefaqs will save you from pulling out your hair and joining the balding thread.

The story really does suck though.

I'd like to point out I got through the entire game without looking at any cheats, and this is NOT bragging.  I had to stop and think about stuff for a while sometimes, but it's really not that hard of a game to figure out.

It's definitely worth it for $5.

Yeah, when I first saw the writing in the first stage, I thought "OK, that could be kind of cool, lets see where he takes it."

Then it just quickly became emo retarded instead of poetic in any way.

The writing is pretty much some of the worst filth passed off as artistic in the industry.

Pretty backgrounds.

Some neat platform puzzle ideas.

Felt like a flash game.
