So we did one last year. But since I've moved, I figure other people's desks have changed also. Note: The only thing I cleaned off were my keys and my wallet. My desk space stays really goddamn clean these days, except for that spot to the left of the printer that's covered in dust. I call it the elephant graveyard and no one ever goes there. It's not safe. Clockwise: Well, everything here is relatively obvious. The keyboard is a custom model M that is not done. When it is, it'll look like the one from Portal. I thought about selling them here, but I'm lazy. On the far right is the proof of Nythrax, which I have about 20 pages left to edit my way through. The monitors are: 21, 26 & 24. A PS3 is behind the 24 incher. This is to the right of my desk on a much shorter table. Clockwise: Computer, NAS, DVDs I'm currently copying to the NAS & my G1, Sony HTS-100 Receiver, ipod touch & dock, bunch of hard drives, and half-working inkjet printer. Hanging between the printer and the computer is my etyBLU bluetooth headset, charging. Pardon the dust. I could take a picture of work, but it's just 2 monitors, an XPS 13 and a Macbook Pro. Not very exciting. The wallpaper isn't even attractive nor interesting.

Is that diet cream soda? The normal stuff is too sweet already, I don't know how you could stand it with the fake sweetener.
|
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

The contrast between this desk and the one you had in Phoenix is astonishing. What the hell happened in between here and there?

Barely sweet at all, that's how. I don't do "sweet" soda. The contrast between this desk and the one you had in Phoenix is astonishing. What the hell happened in between here and there? Well, my desk when I left Phoenix was twice the size of the one I have now, as such, I had to make due with less space here. I can't really get away with keeping shit all over it anymroe.

You bust people's balls for running an xbox on carpet, and you run an open-top pc. Dust that motherfucker, and put the cover on it.

You bust people's balls for running an xbox on carpet, and you run an open-top pc. Yea, I do. What's your point? and put the cover on it. Impossible. How about a picture of your desk, hippie?

That 21" looks out of place. You should buy my 24" to properly bookend that 26" Man. I miss being able to smoke at my computer sometimes. But holy hell did I smoke waaaay to much. Plus it made the house smell like wet ass.

My desk lately has been my dining table. Last year's Macbook Pro sitting front and center with my cheap little cellphone on the left, not currently charging. The charger's off by the couch, not pictured. Behind it is a wooden bowl containing 1 kg of food-grade salt, one potato, and two onions. Further back is a freshly-purchased roll of paper towels, too thick to fit on my paper towel holder - also not pictured.
Way in the back is the little window looking out from my dining area onto the harbor.
And the view through that window behind the table shows clouds creeping over the mountain north of town, plus the retail/warehousing development down by the old harbor. In the foreground is some dude driving home and a bus stop. Exciting times!

Here's mine
Warhammer Armies: Dwarfs, random change in 4 currencies (Pounds Sterling, US Dollars, Euros and Swiss Francs), Dawn of War II, a big mug of tea, World in Conflict demo disc, a random USB hub, driver disck for my wireless network card and the speakers and breakout box for my 6.1 sound system. My wife's desk is the one behind and you can see the back of her monitor and a pack of stroopwafels that need to go back downstairs. The mesh on the floor to the left is the lightwell that lets sunlight from the window on the landing filter down to the dining room directly below.
Edit: huge picture

This is not even half as cluttered as it was a few months ago, but also not half as clean as the next day after that.
The laptop and second monitor on it belong to my employer. I love my commute.

Remember guys, if you have more than one computer Synergy is your friend. Mmmmmmm....! EDIT: Oh, yes, the picture. Well, the $99 camera I bought so I could take a picture of my desk last time has been appropriated by a friend.

I should get back to nature, too. You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer. Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached. Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

My desk is very messy. And the gloss polyurethane makes fingerprints show up remarkably well.

My super comfy leather lounge chair has become my super useful storage shelf. Ignore the Devil Cat. And lucky you, you are the first (or second, or 500th) to see my brand spankin' new Dell color laser printer - brought online a mere hour before this photo.

They know when you do EVERYTHING. I still can't get over how thick Engels monitor is.

I still can't get over how thick Engels monitor is. I think it's one of those monitors that Jesus buried to test our faith.

Its an H-IPS monitor, the advantage of which is decent video reproduction and color fidelity while keeping decent response times. It doubles as our TV.

Remember guys, if you have more than one computer Synergy is your friend. I used Synergy for years. But due to numerous bugs and the fact that development on it halted in 2006, I eventually switched to Input Director, which I found to be more stable and suitable for my uses (gaming!). A potential downside of Input Director is that it's Windows-only, but since I only use Windows (Win7+XP) that wasn't a problem for me. Will post my desktop when I get home from work =P

I have the side off of my case because my vid card runs hot. Is there really a problem with having the side off if I keep it dust free?
Also, I'm jealous of the rigs you guys have. I apparently need a new job.

Personal deskspace Work deskspace Side by side, all I need to do is roll two feet over. Which is why I've developed such bad work habits since I started working from home. Answer those emails now? Nah! I can do them later, after I finish this quest. :(

I am mostly looking at people's rooms and making personal judgements. To that end, I'd like to see less close-cropping.

I like Rhyssa's room and Tarami's room. They are very tidy and they have cuddly toys within reach. I would have added Viin, too, but I don't know how cuddly the cat is. It could be the sort that turns into a furry ball of hypodermic needles when cuddled. I'm still getting over Schild's neatness. I expected bacon.
