Haven't played this one.  I assume it's a 4X game set in the colonial periods, or it could be similar to Age of Empires III.  Anyone with any time in this one?

I was waiting for a deal on 1701 Gold foreeever. It's been stuck at $30 for so long, and even $20 would've been a sale. $15 is a great price...if I didn't already have 1404. I played 1602 and 1503, but never got around to 1701.

1701 is not as good as 1404. If you already have dawn of discovery, pass this one up.

The 1404 thread sold me on it. I love the franchise and it sounded like they got a lot right with the newest iteration. I don't regret the full-price purchase a bit, and it's been a while since I've said that.
