I will sum up this update in a single image:

That's pretty much all you need to know.

Yeah, I'm not excited yet.  I haven't gotten a single hat yet and I almost never play arena, so this update doesn't have a lot for me so far.

I am excited only because whoever writes these updates cracks my shit up every time, and a new update means more of my shit cracking up!

This update just strikes me as lazy and bland. I've yet to enjoy a single new "official" map from them, so, yea, still meh. Even if it's funny.

I would be super happy about this, had i ever found a single hat to begin with.

Speaking of TF2. I think my account might be bugged. I have like 10 hours played since the last update, and yet I dont have one single unlocked item. My friend who bought the game a few days ago, has a whole bunch. Its really very frustrating. Anyone heard of anything like this?

Make sure you're playing on servers that are actually communicating with Steam.

How are the hats found?  I keep getting the other stuff (flare gun is  Grin ) but haven't gotten a single hat.  Someone said just leave yourself in a server that won't kick you and you might get a hat, but the idea of just going afk and sitting there sounds horrible.

It's tied to time, so it's all about how much you play. After the last update I put in at least 60 hours and still got nothing.

That hidden advertisement link doesn't show anything for me.

You can still get them through achievements, IIRC.

Hats are gettable only by idleboxing as far as I can tell.  I play TF2 almost every night, and I've gotten every weapon a dozen times over since they added the lame random unlock thing, but not a single hat.

I had a bunch of hats once. Then suddenly, they vanished from inventory. Fuck you, Valve.

Gosh, that reminded me a great deal of Batman: The Animated Series. It would be awesome to have a Gotham city (Not Batman) GTA + TF2 visuial treatment styled Twitch/sandbox with a hefty dose of Bruce Timm.

I sorta wonder if a soldier update is going to show up in this update after all. 'cause the soldier feels guarding a hill is something Men Should Always Be Doing.  Heart Plus some other crap in the sekrit links.

It looks like they needed a reason to push out a large patch with fixes and balance, so they covered it all up with a few maps, a new mode and highlighted the hats with fancy pictures.

That's just silly.  Valve has never been reluctant to release patches without "content" if they needed to fix things.

Not to mention, I'm not seeing any real crisis level balance changes in there.  Minor tweaks to the way teleporter damage is handled, and some weird nerfs to Scout were all I've run into so far.  Did I miss something?
