Or Armageddon vs Deep Impact.

NBC is doing Meteor and ABC is running Impact, both miniseries about some big as thing hitting Earth (Cassini for Meteor and the Moon for Impact). ABC's apparently started last Sunday and ends tomorrow, while NBC's doesn't start for a few weeks.

Anyone watch Impact part 1? Wasn't impressed by the trailer. Meteor was slightly better, but I'm grading on a curve.

Impact was awful on many levels.

Natasha Henstridge is the lead astronomer.

A brown dwarf fragment hits the moon and somehow does not go straight through but rather lodges itself inside.

The brown dwarf fragment now lodged in the moon causes electrical problems all over the planet.

The moon is being pulled in to the Earth.

...and I am pretty sure the pivotal plot point coming up in part two and three will be the construction of an anti-gravity machine to put the moon back in the right orbit.
