People are broken.
You can say it over and over, but when something like this comes up, it STILL doesn't make sense.

It's been on FoxNews for a while, with the same response from most of my coworkers: pure shock. I myself, find this to be similar to this: Woman Jailed in Pregnant Woman's Death Oklahoma Authorities Say Woman Killed Pregnant Acquaintance, Cut Fetus From Her Womb
The Associated Press
HOLDENVILLE, Okla. Dec. 29 — A woman who had convinced her husband she was pregnant and was even thrown a baby shower killed a pregnant acquaintance and cut the fetus from her womb, authorities said Monday. Effie Goodson, 37, faces two first-degree murder charges and a kidnapping count in the slaying of Carolyn Simpson, 21, who was six months pregnant, and the fetus.
which happened almost a year ago. Meaning most likely the profile is a deranged woman who has lost it, and who was close to the victim.

Link.SKIDMORE, Mo. - Authorities have found a healthy newborn girl in Kansas and think it could be the child of slain Bobbi Jo Stinnett.
Nodaway County Sheriff Ben Espey said authorities are awaiting DNA testing to confirm the girl is the child of Stinnett, who was found slain in her northwest Missouri home Thursday afternoon by her own mother.
"It's about as good as we can get, people," Espey said.

Another link. Infant Found Child taken from murdered mother's womb
Authorities say a baby girl who was apparently cut from her mother's womb has been found in good health.
A Missouri sheriff says authorities are awaiting the results of D-N-A testing to confirm that the girl is the child of Bobbi Jo Stinnett.
The baby is in a Kansas hospital.
A multi-state search had been launched for the infant taken from her murdered mother's womb. Twenty-three-year-old Bobbi Jo Stinnett, of Skidmore, Missouri, was killed Thursday afternoon in her eighth month of pregnancy.
Investigators issued an Amber Alert early Friday.
"The doctors who examined Bobbi Jo gave us information indicating we probably would have a live child if we could find it," Nodaway County Sheriff Ben Espey said Friday. "The child would be in danger because of being one month premature."
"Someone was wanting a baby awful bad," he had said earlier.
Ms. Stinnett's mother found her body Thursday afternoon. The 23-year-old woman had apparently been strangled.
There were no visible signs of struggle and no indication of forced entry into Stinnett's home in this small community of 500 in the northwest corner of Missouri, the sheriff said.
"We know she was alive in the afternoon, within an hour of being found," Espey said.
Espey said investigators were looking for a car that had been reported seen in the driveway at the Stinnett home, a red two-door Honda hatchback from the late 1980s or early 1990s. Officers in neighboring Atchison County saw a car that appeared to match that description early Friday and began chasing it, but lost sight of it after its lights were turned off, he said.

Espey told CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "If the female offender of these two possibly lost a child to a miscarriage, that might be a motive. I don't think she was going to take this child to try to sell it or move it. I think she was probably going to take it because she had lost one through a miscarriage at about six months." Sounds like overactive hormones were heavily involved here. Nothing too unusual, really. The brain gets wacky when lots of hormones get thrown around it. Fortunately, bubbling crock pots of denied maternal instinct usually have better outlets than this. Glad to child seemed to have escaped physically unscathed (according to the article). I've got to wonder how the kid would take the news of his or her birth when they're old enough to understand. Hmm, no, come to think of it a dramatization isn't particularly necessary.

It gets worse : Killings of pregnant women are more common than many people realize, The Washington Post reported in Sunday's editions after a yearlong examination of death records.
Using state data and other sources, the newspaper documents the killings of 1,367 pregnant women and new mothers since 1990. It said there were undoubtedly more deaths, and that 13 states said they had no way of knowing how many such deaths occurred.
The Post said several statewide studies have found pregnant women more likely to die of homicide than of any natural cause, and that the deaths cut across racial and ethnic groups.

That might be a blip caused by the women being more careful about what they do once they discover that they are pregnant. It's not that so many die in homicides, it's that so few die in other ways.

I almost suspect the news networks of setting these things up. I'm sure this will the the televised trial of the century as far as the media is concerned. What a boon to Court TV if they get to show every minute of a trial that has everything... a very pretty expectant mum, a gruesome murder, unattractive, possibly jealous suspect, baby snatching, the internet, potential insanity plea... the tabloid journos will drool over this story for a very, very long time.

How do you not fall down more? Matter of scope, DV, matter of scope. As you live in a wonderful bubble of ultra-conservatism, you have a hard time understanding what mental illness is even though I've seen pleanty of evidence you are in the grips of at least one kind. For example, your obsessive-compulsive habit of trying to find vulnerabilities in every little thing I write. Thus, you probably didn't bother to read that part of this thread that explained there's been over a thousand such incidents since 1990. (Granted, not every one involved actually stealing the still living fetus.) Though the media would like you believe otherwise, this is not that unusual in the big picture. I'm sure you'll say something cutting in reply. Fine, you do that. I honestly have better things to do than engage in another slapfight with you right now. That is to say, I have absolutely nothing else to do and existance by default has higher priority than dealing with your going out of your way to be an anal retentive dick in my proximity. For the love of everything that's holy, do not reply to another one of my posts again. We've more than enough evidence that nothing good ever comes of it, so why do you keep trying?

Read the article Ab linked to! We don't need to wait for DV to come and call you stupid, stupid.
Fortunately even in your messed up country this is a pretty unusual occurence - in the number you spout without research is included every killing in which the victim just happened to be preggers - sad, but not a rampant crimewave targetting the pregnant or any such nonsense.

Never said it was. The scope of my idea of "not unusual" was bigger than yours, that's all. If it bothers you, take more Viagra. It won't work to expand your scope if you're really as close minded as you're pretending to be, but it may make you feel better. I'm kinda done with half-assed assessments that anyone who doesn't agree with the ego-mass is a dumbass. Ban me if you want to make an issue out of it. I've got a dung beetle for an avatar pic and a title that allows everyone to read my posts to prejudge them in advance as "fagging up" any thread it's involved in. What a loss it would be if I lost that.

Jesus Christ, geld, even the Manson family didn't cut the live fetus out of Sharon Tate (though they reportedly considered doing so), let alone try and keep it and raise it as their own. When a crazy bitch without a chin premedidtates such a horrific act, then goes through with it, it is a goddamn aberration.
That was the point. That's why the thread is titled "What the fuck is wrong with people?" instead of "hey look *yawn*, another stolen fetus."
My "wonderful bubble of ultra-conservatism" happens to be that of a middle class guy in MOTHERFUCKING DETROIT. I hang out in some pretty hairy parts of town. I've had guns pulled on me before. It's not exactly like the Cass Corridor is the fucking ivory tower.
Trust me, you do not want to do this today. I am being nice, and giving you a personal warning.
Bring the noise. Cheers.............
