The lack of discussion over the title & cover has to have driven this into a funny direction with the metal.

Ed: - In fact, I hesitate to send anything at all not knowing if this is going in a Relationship, Drug-use, or some other "habitual" direction. Changes the songs you'd send a lot.
So just send whatever! It'll be enlightening!

After going through my collection I got to the "G's" and had 34 potential songs between the different categories of habits and the potential story of the mix tape.  I'm not sending you 34 Youtube links/ MP3's, so a little direction would be nice to filter the selections.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

No, they weren't all metal.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

Could you give a rough outline of the types of songs you have received so far? You mentioned earlier that you had mostly metal, and if it was still so, it would probably effect what I sent.
It's about 50% metal and about 50% so far removed from metal that I don't know how this is going to turn out. I'd break the rules and ask what inspired people to send in metal, but frankly, I don't want to know. Ohhhhh, I see. Maybe I should've rerolled on the album title and not gotten something with the word habit in it.

I have gotten two emails with videogame music.

I've gotten about 70 suggestions total thus far, give or take 10. Wouldn't mind another 30 or 40 or so to round it out.

Once you've got everything in, it'd be interesting to see a list of all songs submitted (even those that didn't make the cut) and the number of times each got sent in.  Curious to see where the overlap is.

You know what happens when you ask me to do more work than what's necessary? It doesn't get done. Also, if I list all the stuff that was sent, it'll not work so great if people want to submit it on a future mixtape. So yea, I'd rather not do that.

This would be more fun if we capped the amount of time or submissions.  That way we could achieve a quicker turnaround.

I'm just going to cut you all off when I think I have enough. Also, that wouldn't be more fun. Having no warning of when time runs out is SO MUCH MORE FUN. awesome, for real

I still like the idea of tiny excerpts between songs, like on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack.

I get that you're trying to make a badass mixtape.  I meant that people may be apt to lose interest with long turnaround times.  Not sure if you care.  But I think it would be utterly sweet if we kept this up, and started passing the baton off to others.  Then we could nerd it up with votes and discussion on who edited the greatest mixtape in terms of flow, content, and how well the music fits the theme.

Go play a videogame and stop trying to make a whole production out of this that requires work. Imagine I'm poking you in the eyes with a fork right now.

I feel like capping submissions would equate to less work.  But if you're not that into my idea then that's cool.

Yep, I keep mine even though the CD player in it is broken. In fact, the only cd players I have are my pc and my truck.

But then, I was eyeing record players at a garage sale last week because I still have a lot of vinyl. Metal Massacre with Slayer's first track!

(In another thread, they're talking about the difference between film and movies. Is that like pop and music?)

Hey, I just had an idea.  We've got that f13 referral link that gives f13 money if we buy stuff through it, right?  And Amazon has digital downloads for individual songs, right?  Would it be possible to set up a referral link that hooks you up with all the songs in the f13 mix tape as a one-click operation, giving f13 a small cut of all those sales?  I would probably click such a link.

If that is not possible, Amazon and/or iTunes should get on that shit.

You can make lists of songs that people can buy all at once on both Amazon and iTunes but I don't know if you can stick your affiliate ID in that list on Amazon.
