I am pretty stoked for Crackdown 2, regardless of who made it.  But, yeah, looking like Sony is pulling well ahead of the competition.

Sony has more unannounced exclusives through the next year than they just showed btw. Just saying.

I care about two things in press conferences:  Gameplay videos and announcements.

I think Sony beat out MS and Nintendo on Gameplay videos, but they didn't have shit for announcements outside the PSP stuff.

Yea, Little Big Mario Kart, Agent, Final Fantasy XIV and The Last Guardian weren't announcements.

Just because The Last Guardian leaked, doesn't mean it wasn't an announcement.

Agent was barely an announcement.  FFXIV?  If anyone other than Margalis is looking forward to it at this point I'll be fucking amazed.  And it sucks for Team Ico, but if your announcement gets leaked early it lessens the impact.  The same is true for Forza 3 and Crackdown 2, but at least Forza showed off some gameplay.

Sorry, they just spent a lot more time on PSP, tech demos, Home, and other stuff that I didn't find interesting, and I was hoping that the Trico video got leaked because they had at least some small amount of new footage to show off here.

Really, there's a lot of stuff shown off or announced so far at E3 that I'm happy about.  Having just introduced Left 4 Dead to my brother who is out here visiting while on leave, we've played through all the scenarios on advanced now in local co-op on the 360, so I was really stoked to hear the L4D2 annoucement.  Shadow Complex reminds me of Flashback graphically, and I like Metroidvania games (but generally hate portables which is where most of the genre ends up).  Alan Wake looked great, and the new Splinter Cell game wasn't even on my radar until yesterday.  Don't care much for the Halo and MGS franchises, but new games in those series should do well for MS.

Didn't watch the Nintendo conference at all.  Don't have a Wii, and don't really see myself getting one until they're $99 or so.

As for Sony, I'm really looking forward to God of War 3, Uncharted 2, and Trico (easier than typing out the actual title).  Wish they'd showed off some more Heavy Rain.  Not because I need to see more footage of the game, but just because I want to see them hyping this game up as much as possible to generate sales.  I'll probably pick M.A.G. up just because I'm sure most of the PS3 owners here will be playing it when it comes out, so it should be fun on that level.

I could watch the Mass Effect 2 trailer over and over.  Glad to see APB is still moving forward, Dante's Inferno is still looking a little rough, but I'm looking forward to it, and Dragon Age continues to be one of my most anticipated games, even if they can't put out a good trailer for it to save their lives.

In defiance of your AC hate, I'm excited for Assassin's Creed 2.  Sure the first one was repetitive, but there was enough in there that I liked, and these games have a lot of style.

So overall, I'm very pleased with E3 this year.

It was absolutely by far without a doubt the best presser sony has ever done and blew away everything from the last few years from anyone.

I find it amazing they managed to do so without White Knight Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Last Rebellion, Afrika, Heavy Rain - I mean shit, there's about 15 exclusives altogether that just weren't shown at all. It would've been embarassing overkill - and you gotta save stuff for Leipzig or TGS.

Little Big Mario Kart, even if it ends up bad, purely on a technical level, was still my game of show.

That shit was amazing.

Question: If FFXIV (etc) have been announced already, what's the odds on there being anything worth watching at the Squeenix presentation tomorrow?

Odds are, it'll be footage and some odds and ends announcements.

Maybe something awesome, but who knows. It would be hard to top that though, even if they're the devs.

The Vitality sensor for the Wii? Really, what the fuck? What that hell is that even supposed to be FOR? Taking your pulse while balance your pounds away in Wii Fit? Do you fuckers even know why you made this little doodad? The Resident Evil games for Wii are both a gigantic MEH for me. The only thing that got me excited was Red Steel 2, and the Conduit is due in three weeks, so why bother taking time at this show to hype it. Hey, Reggie? The plot... she's over that way.

Still looking for video of the Sony Dildo.

The Sony Vibrator (it's very much a vibrator, not a dildo ^_^), wasn't cool, until about halfway through. The writing, paint, and last couple bits in the arena were incredible. But unlike Microsoft or Nintendo, they just showed it for two reasons:

1. This is some neat tech.
2. The Eyetoy has been basically doing what Natal did for a long time, we just never added shit for human body sensing.
3. They wanted to show the Wiimote for the mess of inaccuracy that it is. Even with Motion Plus.

They really didn't need to show it, but there it is. Hell, it may never even reach the market.

Natal is still the worst name ever for that thing.

Yeah, that Natal name has got to go. It's as bad as the Wiimote, but given the success of the latter, what's in a name? They really don't ever need to let Molyneux show off a tech like that again. Milo is some seriously creepy pedobear shit, and we all know whatever game he manages to shoehorn that tech into will be half-finished, buggy and weird as fuck. On the plus side, I'm sure NAMBLA just ordered a 360 for every one of their members.  why so serious?

The photos I've seen of the Vibrator are interesting, though unless they put an analog stick on one of those things, I'm not sure how it'll handle avatar movement. Hope it's a better stick than the Wiichuk.

A sequel to the FF11 could be cool, FF11 was the last of the immersive "world" mmo's and probably the best done of any of them ever.  I know we have debates once in a while about if the FF art is worse then WoW's approach but we have a ton of idiots around here.  In the end I'm not sure what the point is though, its not WoW and I don't know how many people are left who are over WoW and still give a fuck about MMO's.

I haven't watched anything though, just read Schild's funny posts.  When somebody links a HD quality of the Sony press conference I'll d/l and watch.

If i am not mistaken, its not the controller doing the bulk of the work, it was the Eyetoy. Notice the two, vibrators, had different colored tips.
