Charles Stross was invited to give a keynote speech at LOGIN this year, and he posted it on his blog:

It's quite fun - Charles knows the hardware side of things better than the software, but that's okay. What's most interesting are his observations on the expanding audience for video games. Longish, but worth a read, I think.

I'm about an eighth of the way through it.  Very good read so far.
