My Iksar Bruiser was mostly hampered by running out of mana.

I found the monk's limitations (at least at the low levels I've played ~23) was waiting for recast timers. Big burst as he ran through all his CAs and dps slowed way down as they slowly become available again.

That is what caused me to quit playing my monk.  If you didn't kill something on the first pass through abilities, you had a wait until you were effective again.
