the opportunity for evil is just delicious

Impressive fan film released today.  The Hunt for Gollum.  Takes place story wise before the movies where Aragorn is charged by Gandalf to locate Gollum who knows a Hobbit has the One Ring.  So a prequel.

Quote
The script is adapted from elements of the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.

Watched it yesterday it was pretty impressive for what it is. Did they mention the budget anywhere?

Wired said $3k.

To put not too fine a point on it, there are fan films — and then there are fan films. Put The Hunt for Gollum (above) in that second, much bolder category.

Made for a reported $3,000 by a bunch of dedicated and gifted Middle Earth fans, The Hunt for Gollum has been generating buzz since its trailer surfaced a couple weeks ago.

The entire completed film will be available in high-def for the next week at DailyMotion.com.

I watched it yesterday and I highly doubt it was 38 minutes. More like 15-20.

I have never played WoW.

At the 20 minute mark, Aragorn is
Anyways, I enjoyed it. So too will most fans of the movie or beards, I think.

? It's exactly 38:11 with title and credits. That's um, why it says it's 38:11. And it's really good, awesome for $3k although if you watch the credits there's an incredible amount of donated time/stuff.

Speaking of marketing, we're out of milk.

I have to believe the time stamp. Seemed quicker. I enjoyed it, though.

Just the reproduction swords they used would probably be near the 3k mark. I think they are like 500-600$ a piece.

Yes, but if your local obsessed fans all got together with the stuff they had  collecting dust intheir Tolkien shrines It saves quite a bit of money.

Thanks for the tips about this movie.  This was really well done.  Almost unimaginable that they could have produced something so good for $3k?!? Honestly that is just amazing.
