Mod for Battlefield 2. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it because I remembered how much fun I had in it. Project Reality is nothing like Battlefield 2 and the key is in the title. One shot, one kills and all kinds of stuff. Too much to list but think of huge maps, A-10's, Insurgency game-mode, no sl spawn, lack of directional pointer so you have to use the compass and other delicious stuff. However it also means its not for everyone. It also has a pretty good population, always around 5-10 full servers. New versions of PR come out roughly every six months or so, so it keeps fresh. Time for a story or two. Yesterday on West Fallujah, I finally managed to find out how to plant two ieds at the same time. I waited in the bushes next to a wall near the weapons cache and hopefully waited for American vehicles. I saw a single american soldier, he might have seen me and had either runout of ammo, was slow or wanted to knife me. I triggered the ieds and the blast wave blew him forwards in a dramatic pose. Luckily I calculated the blast range right. To install it you need Battlefield 2, the 1.41 patch and the Project Reality Core and Levels clients to be installed. Theres also a single player thing that someone has created but I prefer to gun down my fellow man . Suggestions for new-comers is to go onto the training servers before going onto the proper ones. Get it here - http://www.realitymod.com/

Meh, I tried it but it was a bit too realistic for me. Died, wait 2 minutes to spawn, spend about 5-10 minutes walking around one building before dying again, wait 2 minutes to spawn. I never left the initial spawn area because I was so fucking footslow. I'm all for realism, but it was just boring and frustrating.

PR is fun for about a day. Then it gets extremely tedious. So much so that I loaded up an autoaim hack just to avoid dying and waiting 10 minutes to respawn.
And was subsequently banned from the server for headshotting a guy across the map with a 9mm.
Also, no support for 1920x1200 resolution. I want my shinys damnit.

Teamwork is the name of the game and getting banned for cheating, well you deserved it.

Project Reality amazes me simply because of the teamwork I've seen demonstrated among (mostly) total strangers.
For example:
Playing with a pick-up squad, we were advancing on an objective on an Insurgency map. All of a sudden - ambush. We dive for cover in a ravine, pop smoke, and our Squad Leader request APC support/pickup.
The most amazing thing - APCs rolled up about 15 seconds later and started laying down some serious fire. We evac to the APCs under fire and smoke cover, and then haul ass out. It was amazing.
