I am. With the most recent ForceWare release, it's working perfectly. And it's purdy.

I'm running it at work, but unfortunately my work computer only has a Nvidia 8400 GS, which is a SHITTY SHIT SHIT card. I've seen the goodness that is the DX10 shadows on it, and yes, they are quite lovely.

Running DX10 myself (Vista 64 - Ultimate), 8 gigs of Ram, ATI 4850.

LOTRO is beautiful to say the least, especially bodies of water.  It looks refreshing enough to jump in.  I enjoyed visiting many brooks, lakes, and watering holes while maxing out the fishing skill (wouldn't recommend that grind though).

Very impressed that Turbine is continually working on the engine as well - evidenced by increased performance and the addition of ambient light settings.

I have a tonne of screenshots I should post.

Yeah I was playing last night on a new lowbie warden in the starter elf lands and my girl, who doesn't game at all outside of rock band and never notices what's on my screen, walked by and went "Oh wow, pretty trees!". Then proceeded to watch me play for 20 minutes, or rather proceeded to tell me where to go so she could look at the scenery.

I am at home. I mean to finish uploading my screenshots, but I think I've spent about four waking hours at home in the last week.

I'm on DX10. It is quite pretty though I have a few mixed reactions. The water, weather, sky, and Moria look beautiful. Trees don't. For some reason, my trees look like those old cardboard cutouts you'd get, where you'd just make an x of it to approximate a 3d shape. And I've got my graphics on ultra-high.

To clarify, the trunks are fine but the leaves look terrible up close.

Honestly, I'm too busy in the game to stop and take pics. I'll try to make an effort next time I'm in one of the many beautiful spots in Moria or Lothlorien.

If DX 10 requires Vista, I'm going to say no.  I don't mind the graphics of DX 9.  They're better than PONG.

It's a memory hog from my experience with it on my laptop.  I guess if I were to upgrade my memory it would be better, but it's not worth it to me for a little extra shiny.

I thought the same thing, then i upgraded. (My whole machine mind you, then vista) But yeah, i did not start the thread to talk about vista, i was just wondering how many playing were using DX10, and to see if we could get some screen shots going.

A handful of quickly snapped screens from Angmar and Rivendell.

I apologise in advance for the crapness - I'm not good at this. Is there a way of taking high res screenshots?

Up your resolution. Press f12 to hide GUI, the screen shots should land in your "My documents" or whatever.

Also, please post system specs.

EDIT: not sure what you did, but Dropbox seems to have re-sized your images.

My spec is nothing to write home about:

Q6600
Nvidia 8800GT (x2, but running dual monitors)
4 gig ram
Vista Ult 64 bit

And er, I'm using a LCD TV as a monitor, hence the odd 1360x768 resolution.

And only running off a single HDD. Which reminds me - this made a *huge* difference to performance: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/LOTRO_FlashBoost

Edit: The water looks so much better in-game than that screenie suggests. The movement really helps.

I'm running the DX10 client. System is as follows:

Athlon 64 X2 6000
4 GB RAM
8800 GT (just one)

It runs well. I'll post some screenshots later tonight once I'm home from work.

All right. Here's a few I took. I'm running 1600x1200 with every graphical setting in the game maxed. Specs:

Processor: Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Memory: 8GB Corsair XMS2 RAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870
Motherboard: ASUS P5E Workstation Professional

LotRO DX10 has three main improvements; distant landscape lighting, soft water transitions, and dynamic landscape shadows.

Distant landscape lighting:

Soft water transitions:

Dynamic landscape shadows:

And these I just liked:

Great screenshots.

The dynamic shadows has to be my favourite new addition. One thing the screenies don't really do justice to, and that I think helps most to make the game come alive is the constant movement. Grass and trees sway in the wind, and as they do so, light and shadows are constantly moving over the ground. Not in-your-face, but feels right.

I figure I'll ask a question of you other DX10 people. Since the patch I've been getting an odd issue in the Redstone Lodes in Moria. A few feet in front of me, the textures disappear and get replaced with a flat black look.

I have not seen this, buts its a known issue. Read some postings about, its because of the new ambient slider...apparently moria uses a different light system than the rest of the world, and the slider exposed some otherwise never seen issues. Such as increasing the light so high, textured areas in moria that were to never been seen due to lighting/darkness show some really bad texture tiling.

Not the same as what you are seeing i know....but it seems its related in a round about way.. Few posts on the OF about it.

They also redid all the LOD's of the assets in moria...this may be related too.

DX10 looks very pretty. And I thought it was a pretty game with dx9 at launch. The combat flow seems a bit better than I remember as well.
