Launch of an ARG?  Valve viral marketing?  Film school project?  Too much Dutch weed?

Enjoyable 9 minutes, regardless.

Half Life Episode 3.

Finally.

(of course, there's an extremely high likelihood it's just bullshit)

Checked the RPS article, seemed they didn't notice what I saw the first time in. Might as well screenshot it.

Edit: If it's an ARG, it's a bad one. If it's advertising, it's decent, but they shouldn't make it so obvious. If it's a student film, fuck'em for wasting my time. Ohhhhh, I see.

Did they use the soundtrack from lost for that?

And like, every sound in it was from HL2. My suspicions lie with the bullshit team because, as schild says, it was really obvious. Still quite cool though  smiley

Production values were, uh, high for complete BS.

I can't be the only one who say "Demo_film 2009" and assumed it's a filmmaker's attempt to show what he can do and get a job.

Quite good in general. The only obviously fake bit was the bullets hitting the pavement.

Could be, but it is pretty impressive if it was just a film student.  I mean, they did manage to get a whole street in (what I now read is the Netherlands) to themselves to fuck around with.  There were a ton of cars people had to have let them use, not to mention a city bus.  Then the houses and yards he ran though.

Steady pacing, reasonable, if shaky camera work, 7 or 8 people on screen at once, whole neighborhoods blocked off for shooting, cars, buses, houses and  the lab interior and etc... just gobs of post-production work what with the giant TV's all over the place, the helicopter attack ripping up streets, the overlay stuff, and other crap shopped into the backgrounds.

If it's someone's student project I'm very impressed.

Same. I'm going to assume it's one of the typical wonder groups from across the sea. They happen to pop up every so often and ooze talent. I doubt it's real considering they didn't have the guards wearing the typical masks.

Also, check out Escape from City 17 if you liked this one. Not as high production values, but the grit is really well done.

I'd love to say Portal 2, just because I want more of the Portal side of the story, but yeah, either fan wankery or HL2:Ep3.

Sadly, not Half-Life related, according to Valve.
