Oh man, I remember first joining WT.o. I posted under a different username for a while and eventually felt I'd said enough stupid things (I think I once told Bruce I respected his opinions, long before I realised what an asshat he actually is) to want a new start. I was sceptical when Schild took over, only partly because he was planning to turn this into some omnimedia review site where we'd discuss the latest release of Hollywood and indie films alongside games and albums. Or something, I really wasn't paying that much attention to details. Instead he went and kept the forum community going fantastically and occasionally published something interesting to do with games, I can only hope the Obama administration manages to prove right wing sceptics as wrong

I've never been banned from a site.  I have yet to find someplace that doesn't allow for tactful disagreement. 

If the type of site you describe exists, it's certainly not a site worth visiting anyway.

I forget who it was, but I don't think they made the move to F13. 
I think it was the only time I have ever been booted from a forum.

WTO was actually taking to banning many of the P2P posters just because they were coming from "that other site".

I was never banned from WTO, but was banned from SND during what was it's last week because of calling out the mods and basically insulting everyone, including myself, for blindly following "teh community" to another masthead.

Managed to dodge a similar banning on every Lum dispora site since then, but am still generally hated for daring to shatter the illusion that anyone on forums really cares about their fellow posters.

Now I don't feel special since apparently banning people for retarded shit seems to be what WTO did.
I'm sure some folks say my posts are still retarded and I cannot always disagree, but back in those days when I went by Bloodcat I was a pretty big idiot.  (A well meaning idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.  Now real life has pounded me down so hard I am only mildly angry.  The fires of youth are gone, leaving only acceptance of my fate.  )

In the long run it was probably good and bad for F13.  We have a much smaller group of folks here since probably a lot of decent people were apparently banned for giggles and probably never came back who would have boosted our numbers, but its good since we kind of know who we are to some degree.  Its cozy and all.  And even the arguments seem to be in mostly good fun.  I'd have a beer with most of yas anyhow.

Heck its been so long I barely remember most of the Lummite folks.   Only a handful I do recall.  Lum and Mrs Lum, Arcadian, Tweety, Joe, Haemish, the lady who kept trying to build a Lum spinoff and constantly failed (Angelstorm?), The Furry Mafia (Technogeek, Redfox, and two guys with a T for their handle's first name), and that creepy rich guy whose name I dare not speak lest he arrive like Hastur or the Battlecruiser 2000 dude. 

A few more I could probably say by personality, but their names have been lost.  Like the guy who caused Lum's site to go kersplooey when he probably did bad things with the site money, the angry lady who helped run things with Arcadian, some cute girl who was insanely hateful and rude, a couple of the Corpnewsers...

How time flies.  Hell, how time gets wasted.  Makes me wonder what the fuck I am doing with my life sometimes.
