You're a lawyer, aren't you?  Of course you hate it.  The husband of a good friend of mine used to literally sputter and spit watching LA Law.  His wife loved the show and insisted on watching it.  I didn't much care for it but used to watch it with them because he made it so fun.

I do like Boston Legal, however.  It makes me laugh all on it's own.  It's the best thing Captain Kirk every did... although that's not saying much.  It suits James Spader, too.  

Having said that, you don't have to have any legal training at all to understand all the rules they're breaking during every episode.  I can see how someone who does related work might get a bit hot under the collar.  It does nothing to advance the reputation of lawyers.

I don't know who Lindsay Lohan is, but I find the show amusing.  I've only seen it a couple of times though... I'm sure it'll get stale quickly, like most of Kelley's stuff.  They are usually only momentarily interesting.

The only show that I actually look for, lately, is Desperate Housewives.  It reminds me of the neighbourhood I grew up in.

She was the little red-headed girl in the remake in the parent trap, and more recently Mean Girls. Currently she's about to get dumped by the guy who plays Fez on 70's Show because now that she's finally turned 18 this year, he'll be looking for another undearge actress in the string of them he's somehow managed to get away with fucking and still have a career. Back to the topic...  I agree, Boston Legal is hilarious.  I've been torrenting it and watching it via the TV-out on my machine, and it's just a great, very funny show.  I especially like Spader's character.  I think he's one of the few good examples of someone who is neutral evil... in that he does the wrong things, for his own reasons.

That's just it - I don't think he's evil at all!  He's more like Chaotic Neutral, or a misguided Chaotic Good.  They've actually toned his character down slightly from "The Practice" to make him a little more likeable.  Whereas the other lawyers are usually angsty about conflicts between their legal ethics and "doing the right thing", Spader has no doubts at all about what the right thing is and has no respect for any rules that get in his way.  But this often results in him seemingly self-destructing.

I can certainly relate.

That's too bad, because I think Sally is very hot.  But I guess now that Alan has chosen Tara, and they are introducing yet another female character, it was pointless to have Sally hanging around.  Good thing Joss Whedon isn't making this series; he would just keep adding more characters until he could justify another spin-off!
