Me want return to old-style BF1942 goodness, before every other game in the series fucked the formula up.

All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu.  This is the truth!  This is my belief! At least for now...

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Hopefully, they've added some new goddamn maps and tightened the game up a lot.

More infantry fights and fewer vehicles.  If not that, give infantry more ways to disable vehicles.  Tanks and planes made the original BF1942 too easy.

Did they fix the fact that every kept going axis cause they had all the better clothes? There was also the issue of that one gun that would rape any lowbie who wasn't grinding out levels.

I disagree completely. Planes were very fragile, you could shoot one down by hitting it a few times in the prop with your SMG (prone and aiming, of course).

On pubs, tanks wtfpwned (as did planes, I guess). But I was lucky enough to play BF1942 in a competitive clan and it was amazing. I was engy for a while, and it was so easy to make tankers cry. I liked playing medic as backup, and it was fun hiding out hoping the tankers didn't see you, then trying to zip out the back way, or try and snipe them when they jump out to repair or whatever. But yeah, the crux was playing on a motivated team with voice comms against the same.

The Battlefield series has been moving away from the style of gameplay I enjoy (slower, more strategic) with every iteration. The release order is exactly my enjoyment order. I skipped 2142 entirely and when I tried Heroes I liked the customization but the gameplay was awful. Maybe I could've given it some more time to get used to some of the fundamental changes, but why bother wasting my time on an online shooter that will be filled with fucking retards trying to be dicks to everyone else?

I play the heavy weapons type guy mostly in this game, and you can choose to have a bazooka instead of the normal grenades... 3 shots to kill a tank (or somewhere around there).

True, but anyone with half a brain could spin the tank around and kill the person with a bazooka in no time flat.  Also, to be effective you had to position yourself near an ammo crate when using a bazooka.

Am I the only one that loved the beach assault scenarios?  Omaha beach and the island assault were lots of fun from both sides.

That three hits bullshit has persisted in the Battlefield series since BF1942. I'd be OK with it if it didn't trigger the damage indicator giving away your direction, but it does. At least up to BF2142.

I played a lot until a few weeks ago.  If you're interested, I'd fire it up again.

I liked Battlefield Vietnam better than 1942, for some reason. Perhaps it was the setting/music.

All the physics fixing DICE did ruined BF1942 anyway.

You know what, fuck this shitt.  This has got to be the most bullshitt fucking account system ever invented. There are 3 ways, and 3 different wordings (user name, persona, e-mail) used to log into an EA account. I also looked at three different pages and layouts with completely different info on them for my account summery. apparently, the EA account means jack shitt, because the security layer is completely different, and trying to use your EA account to reset your security layer...fails even if you JUST CHANGED IT (useing the ever changing way to log into , and the shitty use of three different sites to log into it).

I was in the beta, i cant reuse the key again, the EA account is bullshit and seems to not be associated to the EA account, that i would have to use the beta key again to associate.

Fuck EA.

You didn't want it enough  Ohhhhh, I see.

Only things that bother me at this point is needing to log out of the entire game to switch roles, and the inability to choose a specific server to join. Not sure which of these are intended to go live.

I would ask schild for a BF:Heroes beta board, but I don't think f13 does those anymore. Plus, there isn't a lot of hype about it.

I got in over the weekend and played for maybe an hour. I can't imagine who this game is targeted at honestly, but I've read accounts of folks enjoying it, so who knows.

I was just reading in PC Gamer that DICE is working on 5 BF games. Jesus.

And BF1943 is only 3 maps (Wake, Iwo and I think Guatal, great maps, but still...).

And there is a Bad Company 2.

And BF:Heroes /needs/ to be the most successful BF game yet.

DICE has been thoroughly EA'd.
