So they're doing a remake of Wes Craven's movie from 1972.  Ordinarily this isn't the kind of movie I'd pay attention to, but thanks in part to the cover of Sweet Child O' Mine that comes in halfway through the trailer (which I have in front of My Bloody Valentine 3D) I'm actually kinda looking forward to this.  Don't think I've ever seen the original from beginning to end, but I do like how it becomes almost a reverse horror movie, with the tables getting turned on the bad guys in a bit of revenge fantasy.

Anyway, trailer here.

Having just recently seen the original, I'm somewhat interested in this one. Just from the trailer, it looks like they've changed a few things though. For instance, the parents don't seem to go down to the water and find their daughter. Looks like she crawls to the house and is still alive.

Just got through watching it a few hours ago.  Not bad.  Not great, but worth checking out when it hits cable.

I do have one thing to say though, and that's how sick I am of shitty fucking marketing teams giving away the end of movies in the fucking trailers.  It's bad enough when trailers show all the best parts of a movie.  That's nothing new, it's been happening for decades.  I remember recently with Quarantine though the trailer essentially gave away the last shot of the movie.  The trailer for Last House on the Left goes one step further by showing the last scene in nearly its entirety.  That's going to kill any sort of positive word of mouth this movie might get, when the audiences last impression of the movie before they exit is "well, I already saw all that shit before in the trailer".  If I were the director, I'd be pissed that some overly eager fucks just robbed the movie of any sort of emotional payoff at the end.  Fuck.

How does it compare to Otis?  Sounds like a vaguely similar plot but with less funny.

Rise!

About 3/4 in, not half bad. The deaths are pretty great.
