Hmm, it seems like all the sites have pulled out the WoW CE. Amazon.com says: This item is not stocked or has been discontinued. With no mention of getting new boxes. EB and Gamestop have both removed the pages that had the CE, so anything cached by Google doesn't work. Well, fiddlesticks. Did I miss the wagon on this one by not preordering? I went by CompUSA and BestBuy today at 5pm and they only had regular editions. Laughably, BestBuy only had 3 of those. However, Walmart.com does says you can preorder CE but it won't get shipped until the 2nd of December! -grumble- PS - Since it looks like I won't be getting the CE, if anyone has one of those 10-day trial keys they aren't using, can I bum it for a friend?

The collector's edition is selling for ~$120 on eBay, with Buy It Nows commanding ~$150. Blizzard isn't up there with Phish, but its getting strong markup. Regular and CD-Key only are ~$80/~$100 but the $ is worth nothing in Europe.

..... CD-Key only ... Does this mean you can actually buy a CD key just by itself officially? Or is this people buying copies of the game and then selling the Keys to the highest bidders?

Exactly. Most convenient for europeans. Some 'shops' actually had the offer online for a few days before, at a fixed price, so I got my cd key for just 51$. I'd rather have paid blizzard that money directly , but if they don't want the extra profit ... The shop I ordered from ( gamersloot.net) sold a lot, from what I see. They'll carry game time cards as well once they are available. They even have the tip how to register as european: Australian address, european credit card.

Damn, maybe I shouldn't crack into my collector's edition tonight and hold it for value.

I envy their panda, zergling, or mini-diablo pets...
...but not by enough to blow the extra dough that would go into buying the collector's edition.
I don't need no stinking mini pets anyway - I'm a Warlock. The rest of you can take up engineering and make a mech spider.

I got lucky today.
I'm working a half-day today so I had a chance to run to a couple GameStops and finally EB. Both GameStops were out of CE's and one was out of any copies all together.
The guy at EB said they only had CE's for people who preordered, and so I had resigned myself to the regular edition (plus the collector's edition of the Game Guide). When I made it back to the counter he said, "Hey you know what, I think some guy accidently double ordered the CE so we might have an extra". Sweeet! And so, $80 later, I have my CE.
Yay me!
The guy also said that they weren't expecting any more shipments of the CE. I wonder if that Walmart preorder actually works..

I just bought one. IT'S FOR SCIENCE THOUGH. SO IT'S OK.
Are there any PvP RP servers? I want to kill roleplayers.

Before the west coast servers got snuffed I noticed another PvE RP server (can't remember the name).
I'm still having trouble figuring out if a Roleplay PvP server would be a mistake.

One roleplay PvP server would be a mistake, because every RP-oriented player will pick it, a la Archimonde. They pretty much have to set up 3+, and I am not sure if the current RP server loads justify that.
Also, I imagine it's hard enough enforcing the RP rules... having to enforce non-grief "PvP only if it's in-character for you to do so" rules would probably be a nightmare.
Theoretically, any serious RP person will /pvp flag themselves if the in-character situation requires bloodshed.

What the fuck is wrong with that? That's the point. I NEED pvp in a game filled with the shits that play this. NEED. And I want it to be faggy pvp.

Sorry, it may be your ultimate wet dream, but you won't get to enjoy it even if they implement it, because the first thing the "shits" will do will be to /report you, because you attacked them without warning and/or without a "valid" reason.

I was pretty sure the only pvp you can do is RP style anyways.
You can't chat w/ the opposing faction. But you can kill them.
Seems valid to me.

Seems valid to me. And if you are undead, you can eat them afterwards. Wowza.
