It's on par with the detailed strategy guides you see for console RPGs like FF X, which I guess isn't surprising since it's published by Brady Games and they do a much better job compared to the crappy stuff that comes from Prima. And the best part is, it's full of Penny Arcade comics drawn especially for the guide.

I bought it solely for the Penny Arcade 'toons. Turns out it's even better than the most recent FFXI strategy guide. Well worth the money spent if you got the extra bones to spare.

And it'll be out of date within a month of launch.

That's why MMOG strategy guides are stupid...cruising the various fansites will give you better, up-to-the-minute info and it's free.

Bring the noise.

Sachant co-authored this one, too... it's the best she's done so far, I think.  In fact, I think it's the nicest strategy guide I've bought.  It seems as if Blizzard really did cooperate with this one... what a nice change!  I believe they'll be doing online updates for this one, too.

Anyone see all the cool swag contained within the Collector's Edition?! Crikey!  Other companies should be taking notes on how Blizzard filled this box to the gills.  It sure beats a tin stuck in customs ;)

I can't believe you people plop money down for this crap. Are you really going to lovingly caress each page and cover and stare for hours at whatever else they jammed in the box? You bought the game to play the game, not watch making of videos. But then again, if you're all stuck in a queue I guess it makes sense to give you shinies to distract. Nice one Blizzard.

The HL2 shirt was cooler than anything in the blizzard box. The original version of Pirates! optimized for Windows XP is better than anything in the Blizzard Box. It's one thing to love a game, it's another thing to glorify it as the second coming of robot jesus when it isn't.

The inside of the coffee table book is amazing. But the hell if I'm going to put a book with a dark-elf on the cover on the coffee table.

So goth and HL2 is cool, dark elves and Blizz CE not. So hard to keep up with kids these days. Maybe if the dark elves wear more eye liner.

Was a fucking slipcover too much to ask? It's like the cover of a Where's Waldo book!

Sky - Darkelves were never cool. Blizzard Battle Chests are the way to buy their games. You just have to wait a couple....years.

I guess that's all a matter of opinion.  I really liked all the stuff in the WoW CE box.  The art's to my taste (regardless of what the 'goths' think) and it was presented really well.

I don't think WoW's the second coming of Robot Jesus (when was his first coming?) but I really like the way this CE was assembled vs. the dearth of anything cool in the HL2 retail package.

The WoW CE was definitely a better buy than the EQ2 CE. At least the WoW art book has a nice hard cover and is a decent size book. The EQ2 one was laughable and quite frankly made me feel like I wasted my money.

Yes it was. I can watch them over and over again. Sometimes with the kids and sometimes without.

I thought it was nice of them to include the one ring with the cloth map.  That could come in handy with some of those elite quests...

Any hint book with custom Penny-Arcade comics is okay in my book.

Still, other than reference or assistance in completing quests (hello FFXI) I never really neeed a hint book for a MMORPG that much.    So far the most I've used it for is to get an idea what to look forward to with my Warlock and trade skills.

I have to say that the first few pages in particular offer quite a good bit of tips.   Everything from dealing with incompetant players to trains to ganking.   Whoever wrote this knew their MMORPGS, and thru them, so will a lot of Blizzard.net asshats.

Oooh!  I haven't seen this one.  Thanks!  I've decided to name my next character "Sultanna Beauty Gifted with the Steel Halbierd and Who Dwells in the Church of Acid".

You can call me "Raisin" for short.
