Hmmm, I'm sure the new movie will explain it for me, but didn't the first movie end with him falling about 10,000 feet out of an airplane and land flat on his stomach on the street? Given the condition of bodies of people who've fallen just a coouple hundred feet I'm not sure how this movie would even be possible. Even using Hollywood science.

Though I will actually see it if Jenna Haze has a bigger part than just leaning over top of him for a few minutes. Also, given the trailer, I bet there's a lot of sex.

Also,
TRAILER IS NSFW

As established in the first movie, the dude's practically indestructible.  The poison should have killed him in the first ten minutes and he kept going for hours.  What's a little rough landing?

It looks fun. Also looks like Statham had fun making it. So I'm on board.

To be fair, a lot of people have survived falling to the ground with non-functional parachutes and survived to tell the tale. But I don't care overly much how he survived that fall, I'm going to watch the movie and enjoy it in any case.

Every single movie with Jason Statham in it is worth watching.

From the site you linked:
Quote
Fort Bragg, NC: In the summer of 1977, Michael Cox was a Radio-Teletype operator in the 82nd Airborne division. Jumping with a heavy equipment bag from 1,200 feet out of a C-130, Cox hit the side of the plane and spun as he fell, which prevented his parachute from opening properly. With his parachute streaming uselessly above him, he hit the ground in a sandy area. He was knocked out for about 45 minutes, but recovered well enough to hike back to the mustering point where the company commander ordered him to do fifty push-ups for arriving late. Cox collapsed and was taken to the emergency room where he was found to have a neck fracture. He recovered and jumped again about six weeks later.

Did he get a refund on the fifty pushups?

I certainly will watch that movie, full well knowing it will be as firmly grounded in reality as Shoot Em Up.

Shoot Em Up.

Shoot Em Up is the only action film I could say achieved the level of film in the film vs movie debate. It's fucking nonstop amazing from start to finish and Statham only wishes he could be involved in such a project. Goddamn was Shoot 'Em Up good. I might need to watch it again. Which would be like the 10th time. 90 minutes of perfect.

My view might be distorted because it was the only movie I saw while on my Ireland vacation (and therefore I was starved for moving pictures of any kind), but I absolutely loved that movie. I'm just talking realism. The premise of lethal skullcrushing carrots is about as realistic as falling from a skyscraper and surviving and it didn't hurt that movie.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Crank 1, so I'm in no hurry to see this. Hell, I've never even seen any of the Transporters yet..despite hearing good things about them. Jason Statham just rubs me the wrong way.. I dunno.

Shoot em up is tivo'ed.. keep forgetting about that one.

I have to concur with schild on Shoot 'Em Up. It was so full of awesome, despite being completely insane. It's a Bugs Bunny short turned into a Hong Kong action movie.

Wait, I thought Bugs Bunny in Hong Kong was Kung Fu Hustle??

Might be, I never saw that one. This was a more serious take, whereas Hustle seemed to be an actual comedy.

Well from the looks of it (I mentioned above not seeing Shoot Em Up yet), it's a gun movie, with Bellucci and Clive Owen. So it's about Hong Kong too?

[edit] Oh wait, maybe you're just comparing it to Woo-like gun shootouts..

Yes. Hong Kong as a style of action movie, not as a setting.

The genre you all are looking for is "bullet ballet." Like The Killer or A Better Tomorrow. And yes, Shoot 'Em Up is the closest thing America has to it. Crank is more like an MTV action movie.

Just saw this with the girlfriend, great fucking movie, never slows down and never leaves you bored waiting for the action.
Also, quite possibly the best awful movie ever made, its greatness lies in just how bad it is, which is really, really bad.

Go fucking see it.   DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Goddamn!

Could have tightened up some of the flashback scenes, but even so I think I liked it more than the first.  Bai Ling cracked me up.  Best movie I've seen in a while.

This is quite possibly the worst movie I've seen in nearly a decade. My brother insisted I stop at a Redbox so he could rent it after he begged me to take him on an alcohol run because he was too drunk to go get more.

LOL. I love the idea that people actually liked this movie.  I saw Crank 1 on demand and it was bullshit from start to finish.  Not only is Jason Statham the worst actor in modern times, but anyone who likes him is gay.  That's because he's not an actor, but a model.  This also has one of the worst plots I've ever seen.  The action sequences are derivative.  Cherio.

He fucks his anorexic girlfriend on a horsetrack to charge his heart through static electricity I guess since they had to work that angle back in from the first movie, there's a head in an aquarium scene with special animated subtitles and a million shitty gunfights you can't see due to how the movie is shot and he catches a case of bad CG fire from probably one of the least severe shocks he got at the end of the movie and this movie is fucking retarded and terrible.

Apparently it only made 13 mil with a budget of 20 mil, so it actually bombed.

Is that Box Office or includes DVDs?

That it was filmed on $20 mil sounds pretty nice.
