I'll concede your points, apoc, however it was fascinating for me. I kept being left behind because I was scrutinizing all the bits and pieces. We also all learned that a man's bladder is indeed much larger than a woman's, which led to discussion. Once plasticised I didn't consider them to be corpses exactly, but there were still creepy moments amid all of the anatomy-nerd stuff. For me, one was the fat guy sliced into 2.54cm vertical sections, especially the face portions because it's a lot easier to distance yourself from someone with no skin. Seeing a vertical slice of what was obviously an old fat guy, complete with hair, was slightly creepy. The more interesting sculptures (like the X woman) were creepy because I was thinking what a nutjob von Hagens must be.  |
