To celebrate Half-Life 1's birthday Valve has put the game up for a buck! If you've never played it or wanted to try something like Natural Selection to see what a FPS/RTS is like, why not? You can spare a buck. Not like you're going to invest it in the stock market

I can't even force myself to finish HL2. I'll keep my dollar.

Further proof that Italians have suspect taste in games.

Can someone point me toward a nice, comprehensive texture pack? (I'm just interested in the original HL 1 and not the subsequent offsprings).
Thanks :)

Purchasing it for any price was pretty ehhhhhhhhh. The Black Mesa thing is coming out soon and Valve no doubt had this sale for one last hurrah before a mod makes Half-Life 1 totally obsolete. Because really, it is. And no, there's no -great- texture pack for it.

When I got the HL2 special edition, it came with HL1 redone in Source. I'd never played HL1.
In the end, I don't think I played through half of HL2, but I got nearly to the end of HL1. Stupid jumping puzzles.

I beat HL1, but didn't get past the scary town in HL2, 'cause I'm a pussy.

I still stand by the opinion that Ravenholm is one of the best setpieces in an FPS, any FPS.
If Valve seriously approached the horror genre, they'd create a monster of a title.

There isn't one from what I can tell. You can always grab the HD Pack and then grabbing HD Models. Or you could just wait for the Source release of Black Mesa.
