Sweet merciful crap, I've finally found a baseball game I'm not dominating on the hardest difficulty setting. I think it has something to do with not being able to truly aim your pitching, and as such I end up missing a lot of locations. Has anyone else played this little guy with any success? I'd be really interested to see if there's any specific knack for hitting corners.

I never had the money during baseball season to buy it, but wanted to. The previous version (World Series Baseball 2k3) was almost perfect, but had a few bugs that really hurt it. Both versions would beat the equivalent version of MVP IMO.

How long have you been playing it for though Joe? I find its always the way when you start off with a new sports game that it seems ridicolously hard but after having played it for a period of time you get the knack for it and hardly get beat again.
side note: Anyone know if Ultimate Baseball Online is still going? I played an early beta build a while back and it was moderately awful, wonder if its still going.

I've only been playing for about two days, so it probably WILL get easier.
As far as comparing it to High Heat, I'm not sure I'm the best qualified to do so. I didn't like High Heat when I played it, but my brother loved it and says this is about on par or better.

Here's a good tidbit about ESPN MLB 2k5. IGN: One weakness of the series has been the overall presentation. It really hasn't changed much over the past few years. What are you doing to add some flavor? More ESPN integration?
Chien Yu: We're really happy to say we've got Jon Miller AND Joe Morgan as our commentary team for this year's game. Jon and Joe are the standard for baseball commentary and they've committed so much time to ensuring the best quality. As far as overall presentation, we've really went to the task of making ESPN Major League Baseball 2K5 to look like an ESPN baseball broadcast... it's really a stark contrast from last year's game. |
