I've uploaded my very first attempt at a community lot:
http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/lot_detail.php?asset_id=45420

I know there are other art museums out there, but I felt this would still be a productive project for me. I've included just about every piece of artwork in the game, although for some reason you can't seem to access the paintings that your player characters can create. Oh well.

Nevertheless, I'm quite proud of my work. It has a large parking lot; the museum itself is two stories. The lower floor is a little cramped, but quite functional. There is a wing dedicated to popular art, and another with all of the mid-range paintings. Also on the first floor is a small cafe and his-and-her restrooms.

Upstairs, by contrast, is open and spacious. There you will find the masterpiece paintings. There's also a wing for Greco-Roman art, a wing for modern sculptures, and a beautiful Asian wing. Also included is a small corner dedicated entirely to fruit!

Your sims shouldn't have too much trouble getting around the place, but depending on how crowded it is you might want to remove some of the couches on the lower level.

I appreciate any feedback, but please remember this is my first attempt at a lot, so if I've messed anything up, be gentle!

Nice work.

I tried building a community lot (a strip mall) and it turned out so-so.  They need more variety, like a way to create a working restaurant.  But I'm sure expansion A, B, C, D, or E will cover that one.
