Where is the weapon trainer for humans?  I started a Rogue last night and I want to train Swords and Bows, I spent a good hour and a half wandering around the main human city without luck (btw I really liked the visual style of the place).

Also, if any of you beta vets have advice about playing rogues (or playing in general) in the "Man, I wish I'd known that earlier." catagory, spill it.

I'm not sure where he is in Stormwind, but if you click on a guard, wandering or stationary, you can click ask them where the Weapons Trainer is located.  And then a little flag will show up on your map.

I have the same question, except for Taurens. I'm trying to train Two-Hand weapons, and the weapon master in Thunder Bluff only allows me to train Guns or Staves. While I might want guns, I definitely don't want staves and DO want Two-handers, as I have a kick-ass two-handed axe. Do I have to go to Ogrimmar for that shit?

Here is an ok database.  It's not complete but it seems to be updated often enough.  It's the most complete one I've found so far.

Don't know how accurate this is, but it seems pretty good from what I can recall:

Those skill trainers are a pretty new addition. I personally think they should have one of each in all cities. Its a major pain if are undead and need training in skill only trained in Thunder Bluff.

Hell, I just made the trek from Thunder Bluff to Ogrimar today at lunch. That's a long frigging walk, and I don't even know where the undead city is so can't judge how bad it would be to go from there to Thunder Bluff. The zones really are huge, but they don't seem to be dead zones like some of the larger EQ zones turned out to be. Luckily, following the road for the most part gives one a safe path, with only a few mobs crossing it now and again. Nothing like the Qeynos to Freeport run in early EQ days.

To go from Orgrimmar to the Undercity is easy, take the Zeppelin outside of each city. I am pretty sure you can fly from Thunder Bluff to Orgrimmar, but you may need to discover the end route first. I have not played on the Horde side too much.

Make sure you hit the griffin routes (NPCs with the green exclamation points) on your way. Once you make the journey to the Crossroads, say hello to the travel guy, then head to Ogrimmar, any travel from that point on between the three major Horde cities is a snap.

I also recommend finding maps of all the major cities. They are very confusing at first, but damn, they are pretty.

Um, never mind.

Can human paladin train in any ranged weapons? Is there any sacrifice or tradeoff in doing so?

No, paladins can not learn any sort of ranged. I think it is the only class that cannot.

There is a ranged talent now though.  I think in the holy tree.

As long as we're asking noob questions, I'll throw one out - Is there a limit on how many skills you can learn?  Say if I'm a priest, will I have to focus on the healing line, or shadow magic line, or the buff line? Or can I just take everything, and thereby be like every other single priest in the game?

You can learn all the skills avaliable to the priest.

Just like every other priest.  What differentiates you is what talents you decide to specify in.  These talents let you make certain skills better and even grant new skills in rare cases.  The talent trees are seperated into 3.

Your talent points are finite, so you might want to use a talent calculator to plan out how you want to spend your talents over the course of your career, just to make sure you get the ones you want at higher levels.

Um, never mind.

Anyone know how Dual-wield works? Do you just need to train in a weapon (eg. Swords) and make sure you have one that goes in the left hand? Or is there a specific Dual-Wield skill you have to learn?

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

I think that the only classes that can dual wield are the Rogue, Warrior and Hunter.

Several observations

Noticing a lot more class diversity (with the same power though) that I have not seen in any previous game.  Perhaps this was the ambition of Blizz for the solo friendliness of the game.  Only class that I can see has a pain is the paladin; since they lack a long range pull (at least at the lower levels).  While the combat is not up to the frantic pace of COH, it is a tier above both EQ and DAOC.  I have mainly played a rogue, so I know that is tingeing my view, but I have a lot of options to use in each combat.

The world is huge, travel speed at the early levels compared to COH is not fun and while it does make the explorer in me smile, I can see this as a drawback if I wanted to run another toon through the same low level gauntlet.  As an aside, that first bloody griffin ride is just damn cool.  I am delighted that they use the ingame engine for all of the intros and the flights.

Leveling seems to be moving very quickly.  I am running the hamster wheel they have lined out with the quests though, not just trying to grind.  I did make a mini-game with the skin make leather crafting side game and that of course provided me with additional leveling goodness.

Talents are interesting, but have very little exposure to them as of yet, and not across multiple classes.  I can see them as the gimp and a foundation for the focused data mining by the community.

I still get a chuckle when a rabbit bounds out of the bushes.

Paladins lacked the pull until the recent patch, but I'm still not taking it unless I have points to spare. I won't need it at 60 anyways. I'll wait and see. I'm low level right now, but so far it hasn't been necessary to pull with this guy, because he can charge right into a camp and take down multiple opponents with ease. Paladins rock..I just hope they don't get nerfed, just when they got good.

The ability to gimp oneself with talents is pretty apparent. I think they've consistently said they won't allow respeccing on talents, which is going to cause no end of bitching.

It is even better when a cat creature (of several varieties) pounces on it and kills it, which is what they will do if they get close enough to them.

Whoa, is this true?  I heard you could respec them in the major hubs.  I did notice you could do this with skills for sure.  If this IS true, you are correct, sir.  That will be a major source of the gnashing of teeth, mine among them.

AFAIK, the Blizzard devs have stated they will not have respeccing in for talents on release. Correct me if I'm wrong. I even seem to remember they planned to remove the respeccing of skills on release.

"In order to reset talents, you will need to talk to a class trainer. Each time you reset your talents, it will incur a cost which increases with each reset."

Is there something out there saying they will remove this in retail? If so, why would there even be a cost involved if it was just for testing purposes?

I agree, I don't think they would have changed it from no cost way it was a few weeks ago to the incemental gold system if they didn't plan on using it in retail.  This is especially true since balancing will definately be done post release and talents refined (hopefully).

They did say that. Then they changed their minds with the public outcry. They then stated they would have talent respec, but it would not be easy.

They have since added the ability to respec talents from your class trainer. The first time you do it, it costs 1 gold, second time is 10 gold. Then 50 gold, then 100 gold. (I think, dont know any one who used their 50 gold respec yet.)

I still didn't find anyone to teach me the Gun, 2h-Mace, or Shield skills (looked at the skill trainer location site too). I did find the Weapon Skill trainer in Ironforge and he had nothing to teach my dwarf priest.
