And because it was an masterpiece of soft spoken psychological terror, much like The Shining?

Right?  Right??  I'm now the only person left who actually liked EWS.  Figs.

I wish the public didn't latch onto the word "Rickroll." Ugh. it sounds retarded when said out loud.

Someone needs to start a thread about Words Extensively Used In Your Vocabulary That You Almost Never Utter Aloud.  Rickroll would be one of them for me.

I'm in a shocked state of disbelief and have a new found interest in nihilism.

Oh lord, most of the expressions used on this site I hope people don't utter aloud.  I'm pretty sure if Haemish talked irl the way he posted, he'd constantly be in jail for misdemeanor breaches of the peace  awesome, for real

I don't so much mean the manner in which people talk (well, write), but specific words.  For example, I accidentally used the word "meme" aloud the other day, and those who picked up on it looked at me all funny.  I've taken to using the word "douchebag" in everyday speach, but with better results.  Anyway, you get the gist.

To be fair, meme is a wholly legitimate word that has been adopted to describe cultural fads.

Actually, I do talk a good bit like I post. Though, I do try to censor myself a little while in work/polite company. Batshit insane is still one of my favorite phrases, followed by monkey ass.

I know it's a word, but utter it in the average social or work setting and see what happens.  Another word that has done this for me?  Simulacrum - a word that's best used in type or inside my head.

Batshit Insane is one you can definitely use.  I've done it and heard others do it too.
