With a bunch of people hitting open beta, I was just wondering where every one is playing.

Did you choose PVP or PVE? Will you play retail?

My guild and I have moved to Test 6, horde, in central time because a bunch of the mature PVP guilds have decided on this server. More fun, less idiots.

Nothing until final here.  I just wish they'd release the damn server names already so I can find out where the most annoying uber guilds will be.

PS. I hear Shaman are the flavor of the month. Say it aint so. (damnit, I really liked that class)

The server names will probably be something like this:

West 1
West 2
...
West n

East 1
East 2
...
East n

Etc.

You get the idea.

Central PVP 6. Though I have chars all over the place, that's where the ones I play the most are.

Server 25, no clue about PVP or Not.  Was the first server that showed a Low population and good ping.

Central 6 (pvp server) Alliance.

That is my primary but I have an alt on East 4 (pvp) horde.

The best part of SWG was the easy account cancellation process.

Alkiera, Human Mage, is on East 20 (normal).

It's sad, even with waiting in line for 4.5 hours, Fileplanet blew the pants off Blizzards BT implementation.  Went from 15-40K/s on BT to a steady 278K/s (have DSL with 3Mbit down) from Fileplanet, got half the client from FP before the BT client moved 5%.

And yeah, that installer is a doozy.  I dunno what it's doing, but it takes a bloody long time.  I was on the phone when it started, talked to my parents about holiday plans, work, blah blah blah, it was 1/3 done... then forgot about it and sat down to eat, ate, chatted with the spouse, picked up the table, walked back to computer...  Still 10% to go.  What The Heck.

The Downloader and Installer are massive turnoffs to this game.  Compared to other games which gave me the patcher and said 'go to it', patched in the whole game, no seperate install... namely, CoH and EQ2... and did so beautifully.  Why change what works?  Especially when the apparent alternative sucks so bad?

Sidereal, the Pacific RP server.  Because it had a low population, and I got sick of waiting in line to spawnkill a fucking scorpion.  Actually, the RP was surprisingly palatable.  Except the assholes trying to translate a Jamaican accent into text.  Just stop.

Also, just because it is an RP server does not mean that there's some kind of minimum in-character interaction requirement on the public channels.  First, global instantaneous telepathic channels are NOT IN CHARACTER.  Second, it DOES NOT SCALE, bitches.

Skinning boars is fun, though.  If the crafting system had any kind of customizability other than a 'Made by Sidereal!' note on the item, I might buy the game.  I want my rune on there, you bastards.  And I want my items to have some unique value other than the uberness resulting from me catassing my way into Level 180000 Leatherworking before anyone else.

THIS IS THE MOST I HAVE EVERY WANTED TO GET IN TO A BETA
