It was fun at first once it was clear that the zerg was going to camp Mandel's Hold keep. It was less so, not to mention the rp/xp became practical nil.  I had the same problem as Schild, the whole keep didn't show up the second time in Troll Country.  Seems like a minor bug until you realize the collision detection and line of sight and gone with  it.  Unfortunately it seems we are stuck with the zerg until we have the numbers/levels take keeps for ourselves.  Obviously we need to learn to walk before we can run.

Now to figure out these motherfucking warbands.  I see no way to see who the warband leader is or any way to set the warband assistants.  I had warband leader, when we took the first BO.  But I lost somehow, very frustrating.  I have to google it, because the UI is almost worthless.

EDIT:

/w
/war
/warbandallianceonly
/warbandban
/warbandconvert
/warbanddemote
/warbandguildonly
/warbandinfo
/warbandinviteaccept
/warbandinvitedecline
/warbandjoin
/warbandleader
/warbandlist
/warbandmove
/warbandnote
/warbandpassword
/warbandpromote
/warbandresetinstance
/warbandsay
/warbandswap
/warbandunban
/wb

I think if we use /warbandguildonly guild members should invite themselves.
EDIT2:
looks like /wbc promote or /warbandpromote will make assistants.

I think being part of a zerg is great fun.  Yesterday we took the crypts and once the defend timer rang all twenty four of us went running outside to find some guy being attacked by three enemy.  I actually laughed out loud as this giant swarm popped out of the crypts and annihilated them.

Being part of the zerg is fun, but outside of Bat Country Members you could tell there was little to no strategy among any of the other 3 guilds involved. Particularly with the guild du jour. That said, while I would join in again and still be in the bat WB, I really didn't enjoy the final outcome which was sitting at one keep and not expanding in any direction. They could've rolled the entire server and then some, but chose not to for whatever reason.

Would have been good to leave the keep after it grew stale and target the zone's secondary objectives.  I think they were both Destro controlled.  Highlight of the night was chasing down that elf in Barak Varr - to give him credit he almost made the guards.

-- ASSIST TRAINING --

The DPS need to be assist training like crazy - Schild was doing good at calling out targets, so I'm going to bring it a step further.

There are one of two things you can do here:

1. Setup a macro

Make a macro that is:

/assist <character name>

Example:

/assist Tryst

This way, you can burn down targets faster. Just hitting a button is generally faster then calling out targets in a mass, mass scenario. In small skirmishes, calling it out is usually better, but having a button to hit makes it better.

2. Install Revolution KTH

http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13682/

The way this works is that you setup a /macro to be:

/script RevKTH.TargetKill()

and put that on a button. Then at any time, you can just type:

/revk NAME

So, for an example, I could type:

/revk Tryst

and then every time I clicked the /script RevKTH.TargetKill() button, it would assist Tryst. This way, you never have to edit an assist macro, you just type a slash command.

There's also commands in there for healing, and a big popup message when people are called out - pretty snazzy.

How does WAR handle multi / commands in a macro?  Does it do the wow thing where you have to keep hitting it, or does it do the old EQ thing where it runs through them all?

If it's the latter, My favorite was always just setting up a macro for the night that ended with the Main caller and worked backward from there(I.e. /assist <lastguy>, /assist <second last>, /assist <main>)  Since it executed commands in order you'd flip through 3 targets nearly instantly until you hit the main TC's target.   That way, in the middle of a fight if the Main goes down you aren't reduced to "fuck who am I assisting now?" furiously typing a / command to reset things or trying to remember which button was "Assist secondary caller"

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

Actually, I hadn't seen that - that's pretty cool.
